Don't Expect Any Protests During National Anthem from Hawkeyes

Because like I said earlier, what it means to be racist is watered down by everyone screaming racism at everything. Hell I've been called racist in this thread.

You need to work on your reading comprehension if you can't use it well enough to fill in the missing word.
I'll ask again.
How are they lumped in with a huge of people who do things like laugh at a stand up comic's joke and why or how does that result in them not being singled out and alienated?

Because they are lumped in with a huge of people who do things like laugh at a stand up comic's joke. The best way to fight racism is to only call racists racist. That cuts the number down probably 90% just like that. Feeling with the other 10% becomes a lot more manageable.

Time to stop paying attention to what order girls take their shirts off on a commercial or what order Crayola packs their crayons in. It gives us more time to deal with the guys from Rob's tweet.
This.
But it's a lot less work and you still get all the props for being "sensitive."

I didn't mean to sound like that, but now that it came up, my guess is he does hate white people. Again my opinion, but I bet this whole thing started with him being "tired of whitey".

I don't disagree with everything you are saying. It just reminds me of that 'Seinfeld' episode where he said we should look to the black and white cookie for racial harmony and then he ate the cookie. The cookie gave him a bad stomach. You remind me of that cookie .:)

They are lumped into a huge group of "racists" and that group is way bigger than it needs to be. We don't rank racists on a 1 to 10 scale. We just call them racist or not racist. They therefore aren't alienated in their own mind because everyone around them is being called racist too.

I wish I knew that episode.

Or he feels this country doesn't represent what the flag and anthem are truly about.

Hey Rob, your tweets won't load on my phone for some reason. This is the 3rd one in a row I've noticed. It won't load in the quotes when other people quote your post either.

Maybe you blocked me. ;)

Not sure why they’re not showing up. Maybe someone more tech savvy than I can help.

Kneeling symbolizes being "subservient to".

That's why Americans stand for the anthem and flag. We don't stand for those things to respect the military personnel or government. We stand to respect the ideals those things represent and, in the end, to respect each other.

I thought standing arm-in-arm caused me to reflect more about things than getting lectured by tv talking heads about players drawing attention to themselves by kneeling.

That's what I think too. He's disappointed in this country because he thinks whites suppress blacks. Well some do. Just like some blacks hate whites. That's a people problem. Not a country problem.

And where do these people live?

Just curious.. have you or PC been out of the country for a period of time more than a vacation where you were a minority? Ever done volunteer work in a project? You'll get defensive and say I'm bragging or something. But its an honest question. It would give you different perspectice. Many Iowa counties lead the nation in percent caucasion population. Look how defensive you get by this. Imagine getting called out or harrassed because of skin color. I just call you out for being arrogant and mean spirited and when you make dumb comments.

1) No I haven't lived anywhere where I was a minority
2) Yes, I have donated time of myself and my company to help the less fortunate, and have made a difference in several families lives directly

I don't get defensive about these things Gold, I get pissed off by arrogant assholes like you. Lets see if you have my life experience.

Do you have family members that are black? I do, my niece and nephew are black
Have you ever lived with and help raise a minority child? I have, my niece and nephew lived with me for 4 years.
Have you have had a discussion with a family member about being unfairly pulled over by the police because they were a minority? I have Gold, I have. What is all theories for you Gold, are paths I have walked down.

You are such an arrogant asshole that you think you are more worldly than the rest of us, that you know more, that your life experience tells you what is better for others. You are to busy looking down your nose at people with differing opinions than you, that you don't open your ears and eyes and try to see another perspective.

PCHawk has been so spot on in this thread. He is owning you, and unfortunately you have been doing what you usually do. Ignoring others points of view, looking down your nose at them, and judging them.

The introspection needed IMO isn't the kind that identifies all the "unfairness" in the world. Everyone has their grievances. It's the realization that homo sapiens don't have the capacity for creating a perfect world. With 7 billion different definitions of the word "fair", it is a scientific impossibility to satisfy everyone.
Learning to live within an imperfect Universe is much more useful to someone than learning to throw a fit every time the person you voted for doesn't win. As a famous person said recently, "The day care center isn't in the white house, it's in all the people who would rather riot than vote."
