Just curious.. have you or PC been out of the country for a period of time more than a vacation where you were a minority? Ever done volunteer work in a project? You'll get defensive and say I'm bragging or something. But its an honest question. It would give you different perspectice. Many Iowa counties lead the nation in percent caucasion population. Look how defensive you get by this. Imagine getting called out or harrassed because of skin color. I just call you out for being arrogant and mean spirited and when you make dumb comments.

Two things. All I can do is try to lead by example and make my area free of racism. My only other option would be to move to a more racist area and lead by example there. That's not going to happen. What I'm not going to do is call out fake racism because I know true racism exists. It waters down what it means to be racist. It's kinda like the guy who gets registered as a sex offender because he got caught peeing behind a tree. I want only true sex offenders on that list. If I have a neighbor who is on that list, I want to know he's a bad person. I don't want to have to question whether he rapes kids or pisses in public.

The second thing is, I would bet that the percentage of blacks that are racist against whites are at least equal to the percentage of whites who are racist against blacks. If you send me to the projects to do voluntary work, odds are I'm going to be running into a lot of racist people who hate me for my skin color.

If Kapernick wants to make a difference, he needs to work on trying to get black people to not be racist towards white people. If Trump wants to make a difference, he needs to work on trying to get white people to not be racist against black people. Kap hating on white people in general because some are racist is pulling us apart more than bringing us together.

You are talking out both sides of your neck on this. "I hardly even notice race in day to day life." I am calling bullshit on that. It may or may not affect how you treat people, but you do notice. You see a interracial couple it may not bother you, you make think it is no big deal, but you do notice. The 5 black players on the BYU football team you are lying to yourself if you are not thinking how did they end up there. Very few of us are color blind. It is the rare exception that one is completely oblivious to race.

I did say HARDLY notice. As in, I see it, I just don't care. I will notice black players on a BYU team, but I won't hate them or think less of them for being there. I guess we take the "hardly notice" comment different.

How is that arrogant to say there would be not racism if everyone thought like me on this topic? Is it really arrogant to say I'm not racist?

Kap hating on white people? A white dude was the one that he took advice from that he should kneel. A black person being racist against a white person prevents white people from doing what exactly?

Because they are lumped in with a huge of people who do things like laugh at a stand up comic's joke. The best way to fight racism is to only call racists racist. That cuts the number down probably 90% just like that. Feeling with the other 10% becomes a lot more manageable.

Time to stop paying attention to what order girls take their shirts off on a commercial or what order Crayola packs their crayons in. It gives us more time to deal with the guys from Rob's tweet.

You mean a white dude convinced him to kneel instead of sit, even though he wanted him to stand. It's things like this that I'm talking about with that commercial. You can take one small part of something and turn it into whatever you want. You make it sound like the white guy wanted him to kneel.

Right now we have black people calling white people racist and we have white people calling people racist. It's impossible to only fix one side. We need to fix both sides at the same time. The best way to do that is have black people speak out against black people and white people speak out against white people. If Kap's plan was to eliminate racism, it was the worst idea ever. If his plan was to stir it up, it was a great idea.
 
By the way, to me this is a very interesting topic and needs to be debated in order to move forward with killing racism. I've got no beef with any of you guys' terrible opinions. :)

To answer trj's question more completely . . . we had a POTUS who identified as 100% black (even though he was half Caucasian) and he did hurt people. Millions of people. The idea that all evil in the world comes from the white race is pretty silly, and sadly accepted by people with the critical thinking skills that allows them to believe the world is coming to an end because of Co2.

EDIT: oh, and I also don't believe the world is coming to an end because of Religious superstition. I know that'll be thrown at me even though I am not a religious person.

I didn't mean to sound like that, but now that it came up, my guess is he does hate white people. Again my opinion, but I bet this whole thing started with him being "tired of whitey".

Because like I said earlier, what it means to be racist is watered down by everyone screaming racism at everything. Hell I've been called racist in this thread.

You need to work on your reading comprehension if you can't use it well enough to fill in the missing word.
