One of the all-time great posts, IMHO. Well done Mr. Ghost. I wish I knew you. Keep it up - we need you on this board. I couldn't have said it better if I tried 1000 times.

It is a tired topic. I can't even imagine how this board will blow up if we go 5-7 next year.
 
Not sure where to start with your littany of b.s., but I'll give it a shot:

First, I'm not complaining about the coaching situation. I am pointing out that a bowl game should not vindicate a lackluster season, when everyone seems to agree that changes need to be made. Those changes STILL NEED TO BE MADE!!!

Second, I don't have a victim complex, nor did I become "a total jerk when people didn't respond" the way I wanted. I'm pretty sure I avoided commenting upon anyone's mother.

Third, I post on message boards occasionally because I enjoy the exchange of ideas. This particular forum, however, seems to have a group of posters too anxious and willing to jump upon and ridicule those they disagree with.

Fourth, if you really don't want to listen, or don't care, about what I have to say, then why did you even take the time to reply to my post??? I'm sure a man of your caliber and accomplishment in the message board world, would have much more worthwhile things to do with your time.

I for one will give up a loss or two to the likes of Minnesota / Iowa State each year for the way this staff prepares the guys for the bowl games....Just the nature of college football.
 
You can bet pretty much everything that if Iowa beats Oklahoma, most here will be jacked and predicting big things next year, just like they were last year after the Missouri game.

Even if they win by a single point, people will be off the charts happy. If they lose by one, damn it will get nasty. Its the nature of this board. 25% logical 75% delusional.
 
The OP has a point. I certainly won't turn up my nose at a win against OU, but in the event that we beat them (I actually think we will), that doesn't mean everything is rainbows and unicorns again. There are still correctable issues which need to be addressed, and even a win against Oklahoma isn't going to change that.
 
I'll be happy if they win. To be honest, it's identical to last year in a lot of ways. Iowa has a chance to redeem a large portion of their year with a win.....A loss, as long as it's not a blow out is no big deal.
 
It doesn't "make up" for it but it'd be a damn good win against freaking Oklahoma. Plus it would be a nice upset on national tv with no other games on. Awesome momentum and end to a bad season and something to build on for next year.

Or, to paraphrase, I'm a clueless n00b who went on this board, acted like an idiot, and then proceeded to tell everyone how to act.

Like I said before, how about reading a few threads before posting your own. That would explain why no one felt like discussing your boring topic, but it would also explain why everyone responded to you the way that they did.

It would also explain why your mother responded to me the way that she did ;)
