Does Megaludis assume the #1 ranking?

With McD's loss, I'm wondering if he drops to 2 even though he beat Megaludis.
Anyone?

I realize we'll know tomorrow, just wondering if anyone thinks this happens.

I am going to say no. Megaludis has two losses to McDonough's one. McDonough beat Megaludis head to head. McDonough is the defending champion, and should get the benefit of the doubt. This is just my opinion.

Unfortunately I say yes. The rankings are usually based off the last event that happens so that's my logic. Also it doesn't really matter for the time being. As long as we win the big tens, McD goes with the number one seed into nationals. Also I think at this stage in his career McD will be better off in the tourneys. That one hour weigh in before the duals hurts him. Give the man a morning weigh in and he can eat the rest of the day and he has his strength for Mega and Delgado. Go Hawks!!!

if anything waters would have a case since he is undefeated but he hasn't wrestled anywhere near the competition the B10 wrestlers have this year

Mega has two losses to McD's one. McD obviously beat Mega and has never lost to him. McD is a three time finalist and there is no way he should fall to #2 behind a guy with more losses who he's never lost to.

Stormin can finally talk wrestlin'. Woah. This is a change.

I think the real question is can McD bounce back and beat Delgado? That was a dominating match and McD looked like he had no chance of taking Delgado down. Delgado, on the other hand, hit on about 90% of his shots.

he is actually one of the few that can support basketball and still support wrestling and not be Dbag about it

I love Iowa Wrestling.
I wrestled for 5 years as a kid before choosing BB in junior high.

I just don't have a ton of time to get crazy talkative about it on here. Maybe I should try harder. :)

You try harder here, I'll try harder in the beer thread. God knows someone will need to.

Hopefully Delgado gets beat by Megaludis.
Delgado's style is something McD can't compete with unfortunately.

If you ask me, Delgado might have a better claim. From what it sounds like, Delgado was winning but got caught with 15 secs left against Mega.

If Matt would have had a closer loss, I'd feel more comfortable letting him keep #1. Now I think it's an uphill battle because Waters will probably move up, and not wrestle anyone. The good news is, is that there's an outside chance to meet Missouri in national dual tournament, plus have another shot at Delgado.

Delgado has McD figured out. McD tried to engage him and EVERY single time Delgado shoots for the ankles. McD was unable to stop it.

1) Waters - undefeated but hasn't faced a tough schedule
2) McD
3) Mega
4) Delgado

Hopefully national duals will shuffle Waters back down to #4 or lower. This will only happen if Missouri makes it to the finals as he won't face any of the top contenders in the regional.

yep at first i was thinking no way but the way rankings work I think waters will be #1
You're a wise man not to doubt me pin...just kidding. The way rankings work there's a strong chance Waters could end up with the #1 seed at NCAAs. I don't think he should get higher than 4th unless Missouri matches up with Iowa/Illinois for the Dual finals and he beats McD and/or Delgado.

After watching Delgado beat McD and all but beat Mega, I thought maybe there would be a chance Delgado would leap frog to #1 with the competition he faces in the big 10. But as allready written, I am sure Waters will be #1. I guess it will all come out at the Big Tens and NCAA's.
