Do we really lose that much next year?

By taking a step forward I mean that they will average roughly the same YPG as this year while playing a tougher schedule. I even said Iowa will average between 380-400 yards, that is +/- 10 YPG from last year.

30 YPG less is not a HUGE step backyard, and I think you know it, especially considering they play a much tougher schedule next year. That isn't even a 10% drop off in YPG, while playing a 3x stronger schedule.
The problem is that strength of schedule is very subjective, especially year to year. A team this year ranked #30 in SOS might actually have a weaker SOS next year despite a ranking at #20. Same thing goes for comparing rankings among rushing defense, passing defense, etc. In the end, I'm sure you'll be right no matter how wrong you are.

Na, I'm pretty accustomed to eating some crow. I was calling for KF head after the 2014 season, I had some major crow to eat when Iowa went undefeated in the regular season the following year.

Take the bet or STFU. I'm happy with your money or your silence, either way.

LOL, so in one breathe you say the 2017 defense that allowed 77 YPG more than the 2018 defense is actually BETTER, and then you turn around and try to sell that 30 YPG is a HUGE drop off?

You are a joke man.

I'm not that one that brought yards per game into the conversation. You did. I already exposed how idiotic your idea is, that this year's defense is better than last year's defense. SOS matters. Opponents matter. How effective is 400 yards per game if you never actually score a TD, genius? How effective is this year's offense when they score 40 points on the Sisters of the Poor but get beat by every team with a pulse?
I may be "a joke" to you but at least I'm not hopelessly ignorant about sports, like you. Everybody knows it.

So now your argument is about PPG? Dude you are all over the board. Allowing 77 YPG more defensively isn't a big deal it is about the schedule, but if we play a tougher schedule but average 30 YPG less, that is a huge dropoff?

Listen I get it. You are backed into a corner and have nowhere to go, so now it is about moving the goalposts and name calling. Pretty typical for you.

I hate seeing players graduate and move on because there is always the unknowns to come, but in true Hawkeye fashion we have spend much time stealing recruits from Northern Illinois to fill those positions with average players to form another seven win team.

Go Hawks

Just stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

Is 77 YPG a lot of not?
We'd take a HUGE step forward if we dropped out of the BIG and joined the MAC. Top 10 offense...all day! That would be due to improved play by our WRs, 3rd year QB and emerging OL, of course.
Alert the Gutless Wonder! Make it so.

Listen I get defending what you say is impossible, so you like to change the subject. Is 77 YPG a bit deal or not?

Or the Sun Belt conference. We'd take an immediate step forward on offense if we played in that conference. That would sure prove that we don't need Fank/Hockenson.
