DirecTV - Disney

I've gotten to the point where I can't stomach NFL anymore. I watch the Vikings every week but after that it's raking leaves or napping.

It might have something to do with the fact that I start watching college pre-game/commentary at 8AM Saturday and don't stop until the west coast games are done at 11:30 or midnight. Maybe there's some burnout but it's mostly because of the Antonio Browns, LeVeon Bells, and Robert Krafts of the world. It's like watching Real Housewives of Atlanta meets My Strange Addiction. The level of drama has hit a level that would make Maury Povich squirm.

I don't disagree. There are waaaaaay too many delays, commercials and penalties too. I was saying to my wife the other day that if I was from a different country and didnt know anything about football and tried watching a game it would be boring as hell because of all the confusing penalties and delays and timeouts and commercials

I’ve often thought about how hard it’d be to explain baseball or football to someone who had never watched a game before.

Most of us are 3rd or 4th generation fans who grew up watching both those two sports from the time we could crawl, and honestly it takes 20 years or more of following it intensely to get to the point of understanding the nuances, let alone strategy and reasons why teams do what they do. I can’t imagine trying to start fresh at 39 years old and figure out what the hell’s going on.

You could easily tell someone, “Your team has four chances to advance 10 yards, upon accomplishing that you get a new set of four chances to gain 10 yards” and that would actually boil it down pretty well. But holy shit, imagine the volume of questions you’d have to answer from someone watching a game for the first time.

I still have DTV but I'm attempting to go all NFL season without Sunday Ticket this year. Thats really the only thing keeping me with DTV. If I can make it through the entire NFL season then the cord is getting cut.

Last week was free preview week so this weekend is my biggest test. This must be what it feels like to quit smoking.
Watch the playoffs, the regular season is meaningless.

Damn, DirecATTNOW!

I am confident that on Sunday, I will be able to see Odell and all the glory that a $200K limited edition plastic watch provides.

Sounds like the carriage contract ends Friday at midnight. There’s no agreement so Directv is about to lose ESPN/ABC, etc...

Very easy fix. Go to Target or Walmart, buy a Roku or FireStick, plug it into the wall, set up an account, logon

Subscribe to HULU or YOUTUBE for $50/ Month and cancel cable.

Save a lot of money - you'll get used to it.

As an owner of Baker Mayfield I should be more aware of these things.

Yah, been a few years since I was in the playoffs...
I'm a Browns fan, so I've been waiting for the season to get rolling, so the time and date of the game is about the only thing I know for certain. Excited for the season opener after last week's preseason tragedy!

These reviews are totally killing the game. With the amount of money the NFL has, they could easily come up with a freaking RFID chip system that could create an absolutely perfect 3D model of where the ball is at all times and eliminate a bunch of these reviews. I wouldn't expect it in college, but the NFL has ungodly money. Hell, even NASCAR's officiating is 100% done by computers now and there are no judgment calls. If a tire gets too far from a guy or if a guy has his foot down in pit lane too early, the camera flags it, a human reviews it (there are a couple guys that do a quick review) and the call is made within 30 seconds. And that's a crew of just a few guys making calls on 38 cars during a race from a booth in the scoring box.

There it is. You can get a Roku 4K/HDR streaming stick for $38 on Amazon right now.....

You can try all the streaming services for a free week. One could, if wanting to save a few dollars try them one after another and get free streaming TV for a month or more. Good idea to check them all to determine which service you prefer.....

If one would need a landline, Ooma is the goods. Get it on the cheap on Amazon. Plug it into a router and you are ready to go. Every telephone outlet in the house will work. Clear high definition sound and every option you would want. Their voicemail is very nice. They send a link to your email and you can access them from there. Most convenient. There is a monthly fee. Six dollars for the bottom tier with all the options, caller ID, voicemail, etc. For $16 there is no, ZERO, telemarketing. If someone does break thru, you can block them very easily, from their web site, with a click.....

They will come to an agreement before Saturday. I can spend $40/month on YouTube TV or whatever, or $50/month on DirecTV and get way more channels. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for something easy to use with plenty of options.

You must be on a first year promo offer at Directv to only be paying $50. I have played all the games with Directv and I even had to call the State of Iowa Attorney Generals office to get about $300 back from Directv because they will add shit to your bill. Check your bill well.

When I was talking to the Attorney Generals office investigator or lawyer I asked him if they get a fair number of complaints about Directv and his answer was a strong "yes".

Your monthly charges will go up at some time.

$40/month on DirecTV....LOLOLOLOLOL. If you want all the sports channels that Youtube TV offers, plus you want 3 TV locations your first 12 months you will be about $90+ a month, and that jumps to $130+ for months 13-24.

Just to add to your reply to Stanzi I replied to him with the text below:

Are you still paying for NFL Ticket this year of did you cancel it?

NFL games are getting almost impossible to watch with a flag on about every other to every third play. I posted about this the last two years. It is one thing for an offensive line to hold a few times but it is way more often than that and defensive pass interference and holding and illegal contact is called a lot but could be called all the time. It is getting like roller derby with all the hands to the face, holding, elbowing, illegal blocking.

What I do now is watch the NFL replays either via streaming or on regular You Tube at 15 minutes a game.

This.

I am getting the 'lifetime' promo, tied into the lowest package rate, which has gone up $10 since the beginning , I think.

Nonetheless, a great deal, only negative for me is no NFL Network.

I can't recommend it due to various service issues, once the lowest package rate gets too high, which it will, I will look elsewhere.
