Dickerson is transferring

Trey probably felt that if he wasn't going to get minutes in a 28-point blowout win, on Sunday, then he wasn't going to get any minutes this season.
Even when the bench was emptied the last 2 minutes, I was curious why Oglesby was in the game, but Trey wasn't...............and, yes, I probably could have said that the other 38 minutes.
He wasn't on the bench for that game. Not even there.

November he DM'd me "I'm Outta Here Man". So I've known since then. I follow him on Twitter and he DM me out of the blue. I didn't know he followed me.

whether or not this is true matters not, he doesn't have to follow you to DM you.

A twitter user can DM another user who follows him. But, one cannot receive a DM from a user whom one does not follow. Thus, if he doesn't follow you, you can receive the DM, but not reply to it.

So, there's that.

Great list. He picked up Woody and Gesell off a strong Iowa AAU team in his back yard and both were great pick ups.
White was some what of a diamond as I don't think he had many other D1 offers.

Could you please fill me in on who we beat out on the other current kids on campus...... No One.

Alright, I'll play.

Timing is way weird. Something must have been swirling below the surface because why not stick out the year at this point? Transfer after. Heck if something were to happen to MG or Sapp all of a sudden he's going to see some floor time. To leave a team down the stretch in a season is just odd. I read he's going to finish out the semester school wise anyway so why not stay on the team? Well Fran won't say anything and it don't look like Trey will either at least till he has a new destination locked up...

I agree with you. Transferring at end of year probably makes sense for both sides, but why not stick it out for another month. If you're Trey why not continue to practice and work on your game, and maybe get a few minutes to make some plays to help attract recruiters. By quitting you are giving up the rest of your sophomore year and maybe turning off potential recruiters. And from Iowa's side, why cut ties with him now when there could be an emergency situation (injury/foul trouble) when you could use him.

Is Dickerson going to try to help Iowa win in this situation or try to impress the coaches at his desired destinations? If I'm Fran I don't want a guy on the floor, on the bench or in the locker room that's not invested in the program.

This. If a guy is not 100 percent in and wants out, you cut ties quickly and don't keep him around.

Folks.....this is the very definition of pwning someone on a message board. wow.

  • Peter Jok - N/A

It should be noted that Jok had been receiving serious interest from major schools before his surgery. During and immediately after the surgery Fran stayed with him which is what led to him choosing Iowa. That and it probably didnt hurt that I believe Jeff Horner was his high school coach

Also, right before Jok picked Iowa, Wisconsin was trying to get him to visit and Bruce Webber was in contact with him both at Illinois pre-injury and then at Kansas State post-injury.

Also, and I'm not sure its trustworthy, but ESPN recruiting says Jok had offers from Iowa State, Xavier, Clemson, Creighton and Illinois as well.

Excellent point. I didn't research Jok's offers any further since Rivals and 247 didn't show anybody else but Drake. Those two sites are normally the best at keeping basketball recruits' offers up to date, especially for non top 100 players. After further research Jok indeed had offers from Kansas State, Nebraska, & Wisconsin. I will fix that in my previous post... Also, I noticed I forgot Wisconsin for Uthoff. Let's just say that was inentional:cool: I'll fix that now too.

And ISU was forced to stop recruiting him didn't hurt.

Good luck to him. He had some upside but never seemed like he fit in with the offense. Was super quick but played out of control.

JG10HAWK

Thanks for the extensive list, several of which are stretches on some of those schools interest level. As I stated earlier besides Woody and Gesell that still looks like left overs and table scraps to me.

Folks.....this is the very definition of pwning someone on a message board. wow.

Other then Woody and Mike I certainly wouldn't classify the current roster as stellar recruits. I'd give the staff a C on recruiting up until this year and a D- on the assistant's work ethic and closing ability. Not surprised that a fool like Walker see's it differently.

Then I guess you should quit watching the Hawks play basketball. Our wrestling team is really good...and tickets are available. I don't like to respond to silly posts, but I like it even less when college division 1 athletes who play for Iowa are called "table scraps" and "left overs." Not appropriate.

Iowa obviously hasn't recruited great. Lack of on the court results have been the problem IMO.

But just to point something out, half the guys you are calling scraps have at least one other offer from teams currently in the top25.

You said it was scraps, you were soundly refuted. Big difference between stellar and scraps. Don't hate.

I am a fool, no argument there.

How the hell do you have any idea what the assistant's work ethic is? Your posts reflect ignorance.

Huckfinn I will agree on the table scraps being a little harsh. My intent wasn't meant to demean the kids. My apologizes.

1Hawkeye1 put it back in your pocket. You are pure jibberish. The only value you add to HN is only in your mind. 12000 posts of nonsense, heck of a effort son. The first time you can add anything of value to the board other then your opinion, please PM so I can see it.

I stated the recruiting efforts and achievement of the assistants, not Fran, was borderline failure. Unfortunately in doing so I questioned the quality of the kids on the current roster. My apologizes.

If you wonder why I question the efforts of the assistants, it's two fold, results and what I hear. I know and talk to several current head and assistant coaches here in Iowa, as well as TJ who is currently at Washington. They rarely see the Iowa assistants and it's almost to the point of humorous. I can understand missing out on kids but I will never accept lack of effort.

As I stated in a earlier post JUCOs are a crap shoot but a lot of schools are filling some voids with them. In regards to Indian Hills. Which is 90 miles from campus, the Iowa staff can't make the drive, yet alone establish a relationship. I have news for you, Iowa State does, and if a stud shows up, it's pretty safe bet where he will go.
