Des Moines is better than Minneapolis

I live in MN but dislike going to the Cities. Traffic is terrible, any time, any day.
And we have that dunce of a Gov, high taxes (and getting higher), and too much focus on pro sports.

I think its a lot easier getting around twin cities then compared to milwaukee. Really dont know how we can compare driving in iowa. Des Moines population is about half Minneapolis. But yea there professional teams are suffering.

Prove me wrong or be quiet.

Twins>I-Cubs
Vikings>Barnstormers
Timberwolves>Energy
Wild>Wild
Live music in MSP>Live music in Des Moines
MSP Airport>DSM Airport
Light Rail>DART bus system
Food in MSP>Food in DSM
Retail in MSP>Retail in DSM
Job opportunities in MSP>Job opportunities in DSM
Educational opportunities in MSP>Educational opportunities in DSM
Trails in MSP>Trails in DSM
Proximity to outdoor activities in MSP>Proximity to outdoor activities in DSM

And more...all for a slightly higher cost of living and average temps that are a few degrees lower. It's not even close.

Fareway and Hy-Vees suck. There is no way to get a $1400 grocery bill down to $18.35 like you can with coupons in other areas of the country.

Completely missed the Red Owl, Earl, sadly enough.....

Not quite completely, Jack.

With all due respect, you are an idiot and a moron if you think even half of those things are true.

Please explain to me how the experience of watching the Iowa Barnstormers trumps that of watching an NFL team, or how the DSM airport's average ticket price of $550 and fewer destinations give it a clear advantage over MSP.

The Twin Cities is the 16th largest metro area in the nation, right between Seattle and San Diego.

Des Moines is 91st, between Toledo, OH and Scranton, PA.

The comparison is not even close. With all due respect, you are an idiot and a moron if you think DSM is better than the Twin Cities.

Calling the Vikings an NFL team is being fairly generous.

I am impressed to see that you have the intellectual dexterity to contribute the same degree of insight to so many topics. I am pleased to know that your ignorance extends to subjects that have nothing to do with sports.

I am pleased to see the folks who are on the wrong end of the intellectual bell curve have moved to glamorous places like Wayzata. Your opinion means nothing, Gopher.

The security lines at Des Moines International are shorter. Time is money. I'd much rather pay the premium and not have to wait an hour for my TSA fondling.

And the Vikings are awful, plus, I'd rather watch NFL on TV than go to the games and be surrounded by drunken morons. Enjoy grasping your ankles while the billionaires in the NFL extract their pound of flesh out of the taxpayers to build their new playground for the rich, err, NFL stadium. You guys are so smart I'm surprised the average head size in Minneapolis isn't twice as big as the average head size in Iowa. Gee, I sure wish the rubes in Iowa were smart enough to extend a bunch of taxpayer financing and tax breaks to build a stadium that will host 8 regular season games per year.

This thread is hilarious. Des Moines isn't even in the same category as Minneapolis. That's like comparing Des Moines to Mediapolis.

Thank you! That's the point I was trying to make. Des Moines is the Eden of the Midwest, and Minneapolis is an ugly blight that is boring at best, and dangerous at worst.
