Des Moines is better than Minneapolis

Des Moines is just a stones throw from "The Cities", Chicago, KC, AND St. Louis. Oh, and Omaha.

I see you are from Brooklyn. Anyway, have you ever heard of Waterloo? It is the most dangerous place in Iowa because its relative proximity to bigger cities has led to major turf wars that are taken to Waterloo. Stay out of there if you ever go to Iowa.

Did a drive through once. I kept the windows rolled up as I rolled through the 'Loo.

You really need at least 4 trips to experience all of Minneapolis.

Well, I used to watch a show about the cops at the Mall of America and based on what I saw on that show, I am not going back. That place is a thugged out gangland. I'd rather be dropped off in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago at midnight than set foot in the Mall of America because it is so scary.

Their Interstate/freeway system is completely confusing. At least it was a few years ago when I was going to the Apostle Islands with the children. When they notice Iowa plates they sneer while we laugh at them and attempt to run them down.....

There are 2 ways to look at this. Just for living purposes, Des Moines or should I say the Western burbs are a great place to live. The rest of Des Moines is a dump. There is much less traffic obviously in Des Moines and the cost of living muck less expensive.

Professionally, it's a different story. Minneapolis, as mentioned by someone else, has several F500 companies. Des Moines has The Principal Financial Group. I spent 10 years there. Good company but a little bit cultish. Minneapolis wins the professional aspect easily.

I'm an Iowa native, but Minneapolis has some great things Des Moines will only ever dream about.
