Cubbbbbbies

I'm not saying he's selling hundreds of thousands of seats. I'm saying if they don't re-sign him and run out some 30 year old rookie from AAA and a bunch of his buddies they will see it at the turnstyles.

I think letting Rammy go and bringing up Vitters would cause some interest as well, but I'm not sure he'll be ready for next year. He might just need one more at Iowa to see how it goes.

I understand you are excited about Vitters, but the guy is nowhere near ready offensively or defensively. I think he's got 16 errors in less than 80 games.

I agree. I said I think he needs another year (atleast) at Iowa. I'm honestly not that excited about him, but the Cubs never seem to be able to attain a 3B or 1B from the system, so when there is even a glimpse I pay more attention.

Bottom line if they resign Rami and Pena, get production out of right field, and shore up the rotation they could win 80-90 games next year and at least compete. That's going to put us in a better position to really make a run in 2013.

By the way, Soriano will move through waivers and will be traded by the end of the season.

yeah and if I win the lottery then i won't have to work anymore.

That's a lot of ifs. I don't think the will resign Pena because they will go after Fielder. I think they can get him, and I would be ok with that as well. I like Pena, but I think a lot of Cubs fans don't like his average. However, he's a great clubhouse guy that produces and I like him. I do see them keeping him around as a sign that he is their backup plan to getting Fielder.

Right field will be an issue. They need to realize Colvin is not going to hack it and make a play for somebody. And if it as you say with Soriano they need somebody for LF as well. (P.S. I hope you are right with Soriano).

The rotation will be interesting. I like Garza, and I actually like Wells when he is confident, doesn't have it right now. Z will be Z and Dempster can be good. I like Cashner's potential too, a lot. I hope we can keep him healthy. Now we need Dempster and Z to have seasons like they did in their contract years to be good.

I actually like the bullpen. some call me crazy but I do. I also think Soto is very dependable and has bounced back from his disappointing seasons.

All inall. My hopes for next year are low unless they can make some good moves in the OF. Also I think Z can be traded and they need a guy that can be a top end of the rotation guy (I think Z is best as a 3)

P.S. the dodgers are falling apart and though I know it won't happen I would love to see Kershaw in a Cubby uniform.

Have you watched Ramirez over the past couple of years? He has acted and played like he is not interested. He is busting his hump this year because it is his contract year. If he would put forth the kind of effort I have seen from him the past couple of months then I would not think twice about awarding him with another contract. But lets face the facts, he has dogged it quite a bit over the years.

He played hurt all of last year and still hit 25HR.

You know the fastest way to go from a crowd favorite to the most hated man in town? Sign a big contract.

Resilience. Love that they overcame a 6 run 4th to pull out their fifth consecutive win. And double digit home runs in the series? Yes please! 20 game steak on the way!

He has to be gone after this year. He's awful.

I agree! The Cubs could win the next 20 games in a row and I would still want Hendry gone.

It was an exciting win last night. I do not remember to many times this year the Cubs have come back and won a game like that. They basically knocked Pittsburgh out of the playoff race with that 4 game sweep. Hopefully they can knock the Reds out of contention as well.
