Could Someone Please Explain the Calls to Me

I was listening to Gary and Bobby because I rather enjoy them over some of the BTN announcers, but unfortunately I can't see the calls the ref made.

Just wondering if the calls were as crappy as Gary made them out to be. I know that that Fran became quite unglued at times, but as I said I wasn't able to see the calls themselves.

There were a number of missed/questionable calls. The refs allowed a physical game, and that was a huge benefit to MSU.

That said, we lost because we didn't have enough firepower, whether due to limitations of our ability or this being our second game and MSU's first or some other reason, but we just didn't have enough to get it done.

The no call on Nix landing on Marlbe was the worst no call you will ever see. Thats called a foul %100 percent of the time in any game on any level.

Then White Blocks Harris cleanly with no contact on a jump shot and its called a foul.

There was a stretch around maybe the 10 minute mark in the 2nd half, where i thought Iowa got the short end of the stick on a handful of calls.....it was like a mini landslide. While MSU didn't make a run at that time, it surely didn't help Iowa extend the lead any.

I actually thought they were doing a pretty good job. Then Marble got destroyed on a 3pt attempt and it was just like the officials threw a switch and said "Yeah Sparty!"

From that point on, we just got brutally raped by the officials. It was as bad as any game I 've ever seen. Ever.

This. The neutral TV announcers even said "wow" after the no call on Payne and just went silent for a few seconds... not wanting to insult the refs apparently.

Easy to explain, watch Izzo he constantly works over the refs even when things are going his way. The big difference is that he stays composed so the officials usually listen.

Actually since this game didnt see the call it isn't 100%

Whatever the reason... somebody from Iowa needs to apologize to the officials, pay what the other teams are paying, send them a fruit basket. Whatever it takes. There was no way they were going to let Iowa win this. It was painfully obvious. I don't know what would cause this. Izzo? Who knows... but it was sad.

When you can name over a dozen fouls that were BS and people know the ones you are talking about... there was a problem.

I just wish the Hawkeyes could figure out a way to overcome it. Marble isn't the answer for this and White seems to not be an option. We just needed someone to nail a shot and make the refs pointless.

The top four seeds are in the semi finals, and all is good in Delanyville. That's all you need to know.

Ever since that rat bastard Jim Bain screwed us out of a Big 10 championship in 1982, we never ever never get the calls. I'm sure Hightower makes sure every new blind cretin that the Big hires gets the story of the t-shirts with the noose around the ref's neck.

Will agree with this to a degree. This is one of the worst collections off shooters put on a basketball floor ... evah. Hopefully Jok and Uthoff will help to start turning that around...

Did anyone else catch the clip during the game of Izzo whispering in the refs ear during a FT and the ref just had his eyes rolled over?? Why do refs need to stand by the coach?? I would pay money to hear what was being said

Absolutely. Izzo's teams are going to get the benefit of the doubt. It's the way things are. You got to be better than them - for the whole game. Jok can shoot the ball, I just wonder about his defense. Don't know anything about Uthoff's shooting skills. Oglesby? I don't know if he can get his confidence back or not. Fran certainly isn't the reason he doesn't have his confidence - he sticks by him faithfully.
