Could Someone Please Explain the Calls to Me

I will give you 7 very questionable calls that changed play:

1. Shot clock violation on MSU that Ray Charles could see....no call

2. Marble fouled on 3 point line....no call

3. Marble called for hook on MSU player

4. McCabe getting drug down the court by his head....no call

5. Nixon travels with the ball...call on Iowa

6. MB gets called for foul as MSU player (not in possession of ball) climbs up his back

7. White gets called on a CLEAN block

So to the retread that says show me 12....how about 7 that all caused point swings and ****ed with the flow of the game. Can Iowa close out? There is no doubt they have their problems, but when you are afraid your going to be called on everything and then get no calls on ANYTHING it screws with the game.
The big 10 should be ashamed of this crew. It was a complete BS....

uh, Marble was fouled on the last three. if you are going to call the white foul on harris, you have to call that one. Absolutely terrible.

I would like to add that Marble was fouled on that last three point try also

Did anyone else catch the clip during the game of Izzo whispering in the refs ear during a FT and the ref just had his eyes rolled over?? Why do refs need to stand by the coach?? I would pay money to hear what was being said

Yep, they were constantly over there whispering and laughing. I tell you, they respect Izzo and when he talks they listen. I really like Fran but he needs to take some notes.

I saw the replay, Marble sure was fouled. Would have been tough to make 3 FT's in a row, but at least he would have had a shot.

Does anyone think the Big Ten takes action against that crew? Won't change the outcome, but will take some change out of their pockets.

It makes you wonder. It really does. Izzo is one of the top 3 coaches in the nation. Somewhere along the line he earned that respect from the refs..Fran does need to take note and teach his players the same toughness Izzo does. Slamming on the scorers table, slamming a chair or complaining in a press conference might not be the best way about it..but at least we finally have a coach who puts his heart into this program. He has brought life to us all and hopefully it just keeps getting better year by year.

No way in hell. Jim Delany is as blind on this as Stevie Wonder is trying to drive.

I just wish the Hawkeyes could figure out a way to overcome it. Marble isn't the answer for this and White seems to not be an option. We just needed someone to nail a shot and make the refs pointless.

If someone would have made a shot they would have just waved it off and called an off the ball foul.

We had 19 turnovers because we played a very good very aggressive defensive team. The good thing about playing those teams tho is you get to shoot a bunch of free throws... Oh wait.

The refs certainly had a hand in how the game went in the 2nd half. Iowa made some stupid mistakes, but there is no question that the officials helped determine the outcome last night. None.

Just answer me this - when was the last time anybody has seen a Top 10 team get screwed by the refs, down the stretch, in a close game against an unranked opponent?

It doesn't happen.

The thing about his is how many fans were really liking (on the game thread) how many calls Iowa was getting in the first half and how rough the Bad Hawks were being.

It is a vicious circle because these refs have to suck up to get hired for non-conf games and they maintain their power and being selected by kowtowing to the top teams

and you are right , top 10 teams always get homecooking refs
