Could Cully Payne be transferring???

I'm not sold on Carter coming in, but some of his tweets have signs pointing to Iowa. Im hoping these pictures mean something but not holding out for it.

Cully was a big Lickliter supportor and I was surprised that it didn't happen sooner. I am not thrilled with the news however as we really need someone to back up Cartwright besides Marble. Fran you'd better be on it big time.

The sky is falling I am hearing rumors of mass exodus in IC: Basabe, Gatens, Acie Earl, Marble, Gary Dolphin, the waterboy, and THREE managers are ALL transferring!!!

RUNNN!

I wouldn't hold my breath either. Has he even visited yet? I know rivals doesn't list an official visit. Carter would be an awesome get for Fran, but I just don't see it. Hope I'm wrong.

I played against Cully at the Rec a few weeks ago and he referred to himself in the third person. He is that guy. This is a very good move for Iowa basketball.

Where do you see him landing next? Saw one unnamed friend saying he likely would go to a "mid-major." My money is on Florida Gulf Coast, where he appears to have a chica and the weather is warm and sunny year-round. The Eagles just hired former Florida State assistant Andy Enfield as their new mens hoops coach. Coaching changes usually mean shuffling the playing deck, so to speak, so it might be a good opportunity for Cully.

Was he wearing those odd shaped training shoes?
"Jimmy played pretty good." (I love that Seinfeld episode).

Some of you guys are funny.... without even trying to be.

Fran better be on it big time LOL.

He wasn't before but after reading that you can bet your *** he is now.

The OP (HawkeyeRyno) started the tone of this thread. Some of you have more emotional ups and downs than my 16 year old daughter! Cully has made a decision, it is his to make. He obviously does not see himself fitting in to Fran's system or getting the playing time he thinks he deserves. Although if the latter is the case then I have very little respect for him as a team player. I am excited about having a third scholarship available to bring in another player. I have no doubt about Fran's ability to succeed. As for, 'Fran had better' anything...I get this vision of a fan in front of a Fran poster shaking their finger and saying 'you had better...' while ******* themselves.

Cully has confirmed:
Twitter

"I will no longer play basketball at Iowa. Thank you to all the fans and people that have supported me over the past to years."

I also laught at anyone who proclaims how they have little respect for someone because they transfer in situations like this. He was recruited by Lick to come in and play a completely different kind of system. Fast forward and Lick is gone and the offense is completely different and he wants to go somewhere to get a little more run, good for him. He doesn't owe us, or his teamates, anything. He's got 3 years of his life to play a sport he loves playing, go somewhere you will enjoy your time.

Absolutely, completely, totally, unequivocally, 100% disagree with the bolded.

I'll give props to Ryno on this. He called it a few months ago, I didn't think there was a chance. Then after the Tweet came out, he called it again and I dismissed it. As off the wall as Ryno can be sometimes on his posts and Tweets, this time he was right.
