Consequences? Atwood is stuck playing for ASU.
Sucks being in Tempe playing for a tournament team?

Barring injury, we will be fine without Atwood in 2014. 2015 looks to be a big year for us on the court with our senior class that year. Probably the biggest consequence of Atwood's decision for Iowa is that we could well be starting a newcomer at forward that year.I While having Willie would have been nice, Iowa will be fine without him.
No way jose. Not gonna happen and shouldnt happen.
White plays probably 30 at the 4. GO and Uthoff fill in the blanks. That is an Atwood decision consequence. JU needs to hit the weights. So then if White plays 25 min. at the 4. Who plays the other 15 ?

I do think Jok will start at the 2-spot, unless I see a pattern of loyalty.
Maybe I'm overreacting but in my opinon, Atwood was the difference between a tournament team and not a tournament team.
Now I would guess we may get close to the 20 win mark and maybe the bubble but be on the worng side.
Way too early prediction but that's what this team's potential feels like to me.
I agree. 2 of White, Woody, GO, and JU will be on the floor at all times. I think the key to Woody/GO minutes on the floor together is GO's face up game. With those two on the floor together, we could go with 3 guards easily. But JU will play some 4. Uhl will play some 3. We will play 2 PGs in the backcourt on a regular basis and might start 2 of them. IF there is no player development, we could easily be a bubble team that falls off the bubble. But there is the opportunity for lots of guys to step forward with the seniors' departure. Some of them will and that, combined with increased team quickness, ought to have us dancing again.I think you are going to White, Uthoff, Woodbury, and Oleasani on the floor a lot next year. Two of those four will on the floor at all times, and at times three will be on the floor. Uthoff is likely going to play some 4 next year. He needs to continue to develop lower body strength and develop as a traffic rebounder. His offensive matchup will be favorable at that spot.
I'd like to see Clemmons play off-ball some next year. He's not very good with the ball in his hands, but he's a decent spot-up shooter and he's athletic. I think he'd play well next to a score-first guard like Dickerson.

Concerning how Atwood not signing would affect the front court in 2014:
“All that means is Uhl is going to play, which we knew that already,” McCaffery said. “(Jarrod) Uthoff will play a lot more, which maybe he should have last year, the way he was playing at the end of the year especially. (Aaron) White’s going to play a lot and Gabe (Olaseni) and (Adam Woodbury) are going to play a lot. So we have plenty.”
Concerning GO and Woody playing together:
it’s possible Iowa will shift backup center Gabe Olaseni to power forward at times next year.
“We did it a little bit last year but not much,” McCaffery said. “At least we did it some. Gabe’s more comfortable (there). If we said, ‘Hey, I need you to play the four,’ he’d be excited about that, I think.”
He declined to talk about Huff but concerning the 2015 class Fran says:
“I like going into this class with scholarships,” McCaffery said. “There’s still some guys out there.”
concerning TD, his ability, role, and playing with MG:
McCaffery also is high on incoming point guard Trey Dickerson’s skill set. Dickerson, a third-team All-American at Williston (N.D.) Junior College, can help break down defenses and score.
“This guy gets in the lane,” McCaffery said. “He gets rid of it. He throws alley oops. But he can also score. He’s another weapon we have. Another talent.
“We looked at him, is he good enough to play in the Big Ten? Absolutely. He brings something to the table that enhances what we have. He compliments what we have. He gives us flexibility. We can play him and Mike (Gesell) together. We can play (Dickerson) and two big guards.
“The bottom line, he’s a scoring point guard and those guys are effective, especially in this league.”
It would of been fun to watch Atwood draw fouls and going to the line, but its going to be fun to watch some of the other guys play more. If you think about it, Iowa has a lot of talent. Its going to take a pretty talented team to match up with Iowa next year.
Does it matter what we think Atwood could have done? He is not coming here. Next topic: What if the Easter Bunny was real?
Sports sure are funny...
I feel like you must be talking about a completely different team and have been thinking the hawks needed an uplift in talent and needed an impact player to contribute immediately and was hoping Willie would be our guy.
But it's just interesting how we can have such different perspectives on the same team.
