Who knows if you remember my favorite class(2006) was probably the best recruiting year of WR's for Iowa and look where we're at now. And with the injury bug we have we may need all we can get.

Hmmm? The numbers don't say this kid is Iowa material as a receiver. Must be something Soup really liked.

I dont even think he starts on his team as a wideout. They have two more in front of him who also have d1 offers.

having a real hard time finding anything "spectacular" but I think KF and company have earned our trust on who they give scholarships to. Can never have too many athletes

Being one of the top 7 performers at a combine with around 900 athletes says he may have some ability.

Texas wide receiver Austin Vincent was flying a little under the radar this summer, but had quietly picked up scholarship offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Arizona, and Utah. Today, the 6-foot-0, 172-pound Vincent decided to end the recruiting process as he gave his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes during a visit to Iowa City. We caught up with his coach at DeSoto High School, Claude Mathis, to find out more about the latest commit to Iowa.

I really like that Iowa is hitting Texas for WRs.

Given the fact that football is year-round in Texas between the "normal" season and the 7-on-7 season ... there's a reason why Texas WRs and QBs are typically among some of the best in the nation.

On top of that, Iowa is getting guys who are running a little under the radar ... so that means that the guys will likely NOT be the types who will rest on their laurels.

Anyhow, I'm very excited about Vincent!

Great athlete from a great football school in Texas. I'll take it.

A skinny 6-0 footer, who runs a 4.6 forty, and is a reserve on his HS team? How exactly does that equate to great athlete? I think it is probably more of a case of making connections with a good program by picking up a sound recruit that the coaches obviously feel has the potential to develop.
