Come on Jon.....

I swear to Santa Jesus that there was some stat that is legit where we lead the Big 10 in something very relevant during the entire decade of the 80's...I'm just too lazy to dig for it. BTW, please do not count me as one of those who thinks everything fry did was golden....however, Fry almost ALWAYS beat who he was suppose to beat.

---------Hayden had 5 FREAKING WINS A YEAR HANDED TO HIM ON A PLATTER. Those teams were absolutely putrid.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Same teams that Ferments loses too whilst a double digit favorite

KF plays to tie....

What? Hating on KF? On Parker?

I place the blame where it should lie......pretty simple concept really. If you would bother to actually read my posts after losses, or poor seasons I get down on coaches. Problem is I'm not a dipshit who gets down on the coaches during a 12-2 season or after the 8-5 season after the 12 win season.

Obviously we should have won those 2 games, but go ahead and keep defending that there Greg Davis offense Homes.

I'll defend Davis' offense of 2015. You know, that offense that carried Iowa to the B1G Championship Game?

Say what now? I'll give Davis credit for 2015, but it had equally as much, if not more, to do with the defense that year.

Wisconsin game was won by the defense without a doubt, Maryland he took his foot off the gas and scored a whopping 3 offensive points in the second half, and against Nebraska it was the 4 turnovers that won the game, not to mention his refusal to attack a weak MSU secondary deep until late in the game.

Yes Homer I remember that season, it wasn't that long ago. Your point?
(1) KOK's offense would never have been able to drive the 35+ yards in less than a minute to kick the winning FG against Pitt.
(2) Iowa's long runs won the game against Illinois. Even with their DE manhandling Iowa's tackles. The offense thought outside the box and won.
(3) Iowa's offense scored just enough points - 35 to beat Indiana.
(4) Iowa's offense scored just enough points - 40 to beat Minnesota.

1) And what about Desmond King's two interceptions, including one in the redzone?
3) They also held a high-powered Indiana offense to 27 points, 7 of which came in garbage time.

Again, I give credit to Davis for what he did in 2015, such as points 2 and 4, but it to place that year's success solely on the offense is incorrect,.

Point 2) is a fu*king rib-tickler. Davis kept running into the teeth of the Illini D. Then Canzeri had a cutback for the long TD and they rode him the rest of the game. With about 12 frigging FGs, as I recall.

Point 1) merely points out the fact you missed KOKs first tenure at Iowa...

Ok, let's get real:

I'll take this season every time....EVERY TIME:

1. Blow out the hated Clowns, 42-3. And it could have been 70-3 very easily.
2. Beat a very good Minnesota team on the road.
3. Defeat #2 Michigan.
4. Defeat #15 Nebraska.
5. Go to a New Year's Day bowl.
6. Come within 2 or 3 plays of the Big Ten title game, again (that was the difference in the Wisconsin game; watch the replay).

All of the above was done without having Vandeberg or Kittle available during the second half of the season (our two best receivers by far).

Was I disappointed we didn't win the West again? Sure....but we were in the hunt....again

I'm not tired of Ferentz at all, and I am excited about the future with him. We will contend for the West in 2017....again
They were only 4 games away from a national championship!!! So close!!!

You go ahead and defend GDs 2015 offense. I'll go ahead and rank on the 2012/2013/2014/2016 offenses.
What was wrong with the 2014 offense? Somewhere between the 9-11 best offense in the KF era depending on your criteria. How many years has KF been head coach? 18 years? That means there has been approximately 9 offenses during the KF era that were worse than the 2014 season. How many years was Davis OC? Five? If the 2014-2015 seasons were, at least, in the middle of the pack of offenses during the reign of KF and all other Davis offenses fell below, that would've accounted for 3 seasons of Davis offenses that fell below the median of KF offenses. That also means KOK's offenses accounted for the other 6 offenses that fell below the median of KF offenses. In other words, Davis had 3 seasons that fell below the median of KF offenses and KOK had 6 offenses that fell below the median of KF offenses.

You mean 70th in scoring? Or was that Kirk's fault?

You know, everything isn't about you. I'm on a slow-to-respond public computer.

I've pointed out 4 games during the 2015 season that KOK's offense would've lost and Iowa wouldn't have gone to the B1G Championship game. Pitt, Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota.

Pitt because KOK's offense was unable to combat blitzes and move the ball down the field in a very short time. You doubt? Watch the 2010 game between Iowa and Wisconsin. Heck, watch Stanzi trying to keep his eyes downfield while under a blitz while he was with the Chiefs.
Illinois because their DE was whipping our O Tackles. Special plays, out of the box plays, were called for that situation to win.
Indiana because of the high scoring total needed to win.
Minnesota, the same, high scoring total needed to win.
