Probably because the benchpress is the single most overrated exercise there is in relation to how much it is emphasized, and Doyle knows it.

LT works for the NFL network and they had his combine stats up the other day. Dude was a freak ran a 4.3 He was pretty much the perfect NFL workhorse everydown back and played like it quite awhile. He's in the HOF for good reason.I can't recall just how fast LD was, but everything is is almost identical. Size, vision and that elusiveness out of the backfield.
Iirc LD had pretty good hands as well.
They both excelled in many of the same areas.
Aw needs a few more pounds, but he's close.
I thought outside the 40 he did pretty well. I heard nothing but good things about him. Worley at OSU ran the same as he did or so. Jewell will be 3rd to 4th round pick I bet and that's not terrible. Someone has fallen in love with him. The true football guys not the analytic number junkies won't let him go undrafted he's way too good for that. The outlaw had a rough day, likely a 3rd day guy now if drafted at all

Josh Jackson put up a 4.49. That's plenty good enough to lock him in the top half of the first round. He'll be either the first or 2nd corner off the board depending on what team falls in love with him or Ward.
LT was 5'10" 221 at the combine. He ran a 4.43, had a 40.5" vertical and ran a 4.21 20-yard shuttle.
Barkley is 6' 233. He ran a 4.40, had a 41" vertical, and ran a 4.24 20-yard shuttle. Incredibly similar.
The folks that do that I think are just wanting him to fall in the draft so when they get him he'll be a steal. All the chatter around this time of year is misdirection. Nobody wants anyone else to really know what they are wanting to do. It's why there's talk of the Browns taking Barkley #1 now. They just want it out there that it's possible. So if anybody like the Giants or anyone else is in love with Barkley and wants to trade up to get him it starts that process. There's no way that the Browns will say which QB they are in love with and want right now. Even if they know.Jackson really helped himself with his 40 time. Denzel Ward ran 4.32, which does/could affect Jackson's draft position.
Jewell got ripped into by some for running a 4.82. The average for an ILB is 4.77. His 20 yard shuttle was very good and he knocked the 3-cone drill out of the park. I would think those 2 would be more applicable to his position than the 40. Also, he has the chance to improve his time at Iowa's pro day. His tape will speak for itself. I still want him on my team.

AK is listed (currently) as 5 11 and 194 pounds.
Ronnie Harmon played in the NFL at a listed height of 5 11 and 200 pounds (although some sites had him listed at 220)
He played for 12 years in the NFL.
I'd be very surprised if AK doesn't do just as well in the NFL.
Was never going to be anything other than this. The outlaw had a rough day, likely a 3rd day guy now if drafted at all
Ronnie Harmon played in the NFL 20 years ago, size of the players has changed quite a bit since then.
Meh. Lines have definitely gotten bigger, but backers are still 225 ish, safeties and defensive backs are still 200-220 ish.Ronnie Harmon played in the NFL 20 years ago, size of the players has changed quite a bit since then.
There was a time in the 90s where LBs were around 250-260. I remember the 49ers had a MLB Winfred Tubbs 6'4 255ish. That was kinda the thing for awhile then they got Julian Peterson in the early 2000s who was in the 230s when they first got him. As the league started getting more and more pass happy the LBs had to slim down from being just run stuffers to defending the pass depending on if they were rushers or not.Meh. I really didn't read the whole conversation you were having. I just saw someone mention LT's 40 time and thought I'd look it up. Was amazed at how similar he was to Barkley. Sorry if my post was taken that way.Yeah, I never said Barkley wasn't good.
At 233 coming into the NFL, he had better be on top of things.
Bigger does not always equate to production.
Adrian Peterson was only 217 pounds. Was 6'1 or so and ran just over a 4.4 he was pretty good.
Oh definitely. Bringing them in at 225-235 is about ideal. The outlaws 40 didn't do him any favors, maybe you can adjust slightly because of his game speed, but it didn't help. There was a time in the 90s where LBs were around 250-260.
