I clearly remember Ferentz saying beforehand that they can't focus on stopping just one guy....McCaffrey had pretty good numbers when he made Iowa look like a team of rodeo clowns in the bowl game...

I would take Barkley at #1, best available QB at #4...
BTW...I know nothing about drafting players but am better than it than the Browns.

Probably because the benchpress is the single most overrated exercise there is in relation to how much it is emphasized, and Doyle knows it.

So much faster than what/whom? 4.40 is smoking (according to the McShay piece linked, 4.49 is considered outstanding for a RB).
Yep, and that involves leg and core strength, obviously.I believe Doyle explained this once. He said you don't block a guy by putting your arms straight out...you get under him and drive him up and back. That's why they do that drill where they flip the tractor/combine tire back and forth.
Yeah Wadley didn't do himself any favors... In a deep RB class he needed to run a little faster and stand out a little more. He could get lost in the shuffle and drop out all together of getting drafted. I say that because of history. LeShun had solid tape to watch at Iowa and with better mesurables then Wadley and he didn't get drafted. I think Wadley can for sure be a #2 3rd down type of back in todays NFL. But he'll have his work cutout for him because he won't be drafted higher than the 6th round if at all now. Some RB needy teams out there to keep an eye on for him would be NYG, Tampa Bay, Colts, and if 49ers and Steelers don't resign/tag their starters....
Wadley's vision and instincts are otherworldly. His timing on his cuts, is a thing of beauty. He made a lot of good defenders look ordinary.
wooooowwwuhhAlso, Saquon Barkley measured 6'0" 233 lbs. He ran a 4.40 40 yard dash, bench pressed 225 lbs 29 times, and had a 41" vertical.
Of course he did.
Translation: We won't do anything to customize our scheme for the opponent, especially the stud of their team. Players who are that talented are too flashy anyway. We won't encourage that type of behavior. Base defense. Straight up.
I don't see Wadley being a workhorse like that... Even if he's capable I don't think most teams would give him the chance. I think his ceiling is something like what Kamaraa at NO is doing. Or that Thompson kid at Washington. He was being used all sorts of ways before he got hurt. Wadley will be a 10 touches a game guy or so. If he does well and stays healthy he can play a long time and make some good $ doing it.I still like the Jackson Wadley combo.
I see them like a Rivers, Tomlinson combo.
Back in the day of course.
I can't recall just how fast LD was, but everything is is almost identical. Size, vision and that elusiveness out of the backfield.I don't see Wadley being a workhorse like that...
