Clowns 1-10

I think more Iowa fans were pessimistic this past off season and ISU was more optimistic. ISU fans had hovered around 6-7 wins sine CPR took over with a returning QB and a good center and some decent WRs (mostly Bundrage) they wanted to take the next step. After all that is the main thing hawk fans tell them they can't do. So add that all up and many predicted 6-8 wins. I agree I thought 5 maxif all went pperfect but it didn't.

Paul Rhoads conference coaching record. How anyone could look at that record and think Paul Rhoads was actually building something at ISU is beyond me. That record gets you fired at most every BCS school in the country. And to think he has a 10 year contract at 2 million per....Nice gig.

^ Conference record is very telling. And now with a 9 game conference schedule, ISU essentially has to go undefeated every single year in its 3 noncon games to start the season to even have a hope of making a bowl game, since they are still pulling in the lowest rated recruiting class every year in the B12. (yes, even with Lazard, next year's class is ranked #10 in the B12).

ISU had better think the Iowa game is their Superbowl, because the only way they will get a shot at a real bowl game will be by beating Iowa in the future.

I had us pegged at anywhere in the 3-5 wins with how things could shake, leaning more in the 3-4 range, which many fans I talked too thought so too. It's been a rough year, but hey that's what busch light is for, and basketball season.

You must not talk to many ISU fans.
2013 Football Record Predictions

In this thread, here is how it broke down:

0-3 Wins: (0)
4 Wins: (3)
5 Wins: (9)
6 Wins: (11)
7 Wins: (10)
8 Wins: (5)
9 Wins: (3)
11 Wins: (1)

What was my prediction:

The ISU football program is stuck in the equivalent of the NIT tourney. For 4 years in a row, that is all they have been able to get to, very minor bowls, finishing in the bottom 2 or 3 spots in the conference each year. I'm not sure how anyone can see this as improvement. I think the worse part of it is, I see a 4 or 5 win season this year....so year 5 will probably be the worse year yet, showing a regression. Never fear though, ISU fan will spin that as improvement.

I agree, I think ISU come away from non conference play at 2-1. Then they win 2 or 3 tops in the Big12 for a 4 or 5 win season.

Please. I forget the OLman that got drafted name, then you have Knott and Klein. The punter is good. Richardson isn't better than Jantz (just isn't as mistake prone). The OL is nowhere near as talented, neither are the DL (not they they ever have been talanted), the LB still have George, but lose K&K, so a huge dropoff. You have some nice secondary pieces, but without help up front, any secondary can be beat, plus ISU secondary is usually decent.

I don't see this infusion of "talent" that you are talking about. Lazard next year, sure.....this year, not so much. I was telling people last year that ISU was going to struggle this year. I have heard whispers from ISU staff that this year is going to be a struggle.

Sometimes when I think about the Cyclones losing streak I get sad. Sad because it's going to end someday! Just thinking about their misery gives me a chuckle.

I am not says the ISU fans should be excited based on their "in conference" record. Their overall record and ability to play above their talent level and knock off a ranked team (minus this year obviously), and their returning offensive players they had reason (to an extent) to be optimistic.

Again, those who feel the need to bring salary and contracts see to lack the understanding that this is a business and CPR is getting record donations and season ticket sales. Is it going to hold up? Not with this type of season and it continues into next season and beyond but ISU fans have hope for once. Can't we let them at least let them hold onto their hope, no matter how hopeless it really is?

Nope. I do not want them to have any hope. You must not work closely with any Cyclone fans. I do. Right smack in the middle of a whole nest of them. Their hatred for everything Hawkeye is off the wall.

That right there is why I feel bad for them. I don't hate anything ISU except for their fans, the homer fans that completely hate Iowa. The ones that claim a friend of a friend's sister's dogs neighbor went to a game in Iowa City and they were assaulted by fans and all their car windows were broken out for having an ISU sticker on it. They hate that Iowa tavern hok fans because their are stupid and don't know anything about either team/school just talk smack to talk smack. The hypocrites who don't realize both fan bases have stupid fans, homer fans that no one likes. But I hate the homer hawkeye fans as well, the ones who really do not know anything about either team but rip on ISU fans just for wearing ISU gear or being a proud alumni.

Let's get back to the central point. ISU sucks. This year is just one more piece of evidence on the dung heap of clone football history. (with all due respect to Seneca "the savior" Wallace...remember how awesome he was?!). I should probably mention Troy Davis too, but he can't read this anyway, so... ya know.

Every Troy Davis interview........."I I I I I run the foozball, (inaudible), (inaudible),(inaudible), (inaudible), touchdown.

They are on the rise though, the long term plan of taking over the state marches on. Currently in year 120 of that project.

That was another ISU screw job. Davis deserved the HEISMAN!!![/QUOTE

I'll never forget the interview I heard with Davis following the Heisman awarding. It's the only time I've ever heard a non-winning Heisman candidate complain and whine the way he did...most handle it with class.

Not this punk. What a classy clone.

Doesn't surprise me, it's typical of all ISU fans to blame someone else for every loss. It's always the refs fault and everyone is out to screw them all of the time.

I saw an ISU fan (wearing ISU gear) get turned away from donating blood. I can only guess why and it was because they didn't want to spread the disease... of being an ISU fan.

it may have had more to be with some of the diseases carried by other various species indigenous to the Ames campus.

Remember, the title "Doctor" in Iowa City likely means you are working on a cure for childhood leukemia, investigating advanced cardio-vascular therapies or developing robotic orthopedic devices.

In Ames, it usually means you're up to your shoulder in cow vagina or charting sow fertility.

BOOM!

(at the risk of being a self-promoter...if this isn't a nominee for post of the year, there is no justice)
