Clone reporter calls JBO “trash”

Not for nothing dude but
Huge Hawkeye win! But we did act like it was our "super bowl." I'd like more than beating 6-4 Iowa State. Blowing kisses, flexing, shoes at half court...Bush league. Bush! Jerry Rice. Hank Aaron. Barry Sanders. Take notes. Want more than celebrating a win over ISU. I don't mind emotional, expect great emotion, but not at the opponent. Where are the flexes going to be in the 8-10 BIG losses? It's ok to point it out as trashy. Cuz it kinda was. It's why I hate OSU. Michigan. Miami of Florida. Florida State. Any school where trash talking and me before team is important. Its trashy. Win with dignity. It still feels good. KF wouldnt have that crap. Watch Lombardi's teams. Wooden's teams. Landry. Act like you've been there. We looked like ISU football is what we looked like. Knocked off basketball big brother and took our pants down.
Not for nothing dude but ISU has owned Iowa basketball. ISU fans and the Iowa media continues to bag on Fran, bag on all the white boys on the roster. In fact mocking the “all white line up at times”. Continue to hear how Fran sucks as a coach, can’t recruit and no way Iowa’s pale lineup will compete with other schools. Niang blows kisses to Iowa student section and Monte Morris has planned on doing the shoe bit if he had won at Carver. Yet the Media and majority of fans through it was funny. Complete class act kid in JBO, in which his bush league shoes have almost raised $20,000 for the children’s hospital. Keith Murphy and 95% of the local and national media thought it meant no disrespect. Didn’t think it was classless. Yet some ISU blowhard announcer is butt hurt and trashes JBOs sportsmanship on twitter...

They spun it pretty quick didnt they? Because initially it was trash. They did a good thing turning it into something positive. Dont think for a second JBo planned it that way. Also, i dont label the kid trashy or classless. The act was. Tell me he gets away with it on the football team.

I think it's pretty obvious at this point that Ben is Proud's boyfriend. Nice try saying you haven't spoken to him in 20 years. Not buying it.

Can fans celebrate after a big play? Or do we have to aft like we've been there before? If it's ok to celebrate as a fan, why isn't it ok to celebrate as a player? If it's not ok to celebrate as a fan, what's the point of watching?

Might be longer. I wasn't at the 20th anniversary of the state championship team in 2015. It's been 16 yrs minimum. Are you gay bashing? Is that who you are? Intolerant of others? How do you feel about women? Minorities? Handicapped? Lol

Do you watch sports? If you are asking it, you dont get it.

You didn't answer my question. What celebrations are ok? Can you fist pump? Can you put your heads up to signal 3? Is it ok for Halliburtion to phone home after making a 3? Can Kieth Duncan blow a kiss to the crowd? Can AJ celebrate a sack? Can Taveon Smith dab in the end zone after a TD?

In the word according to proudhawkfans what is acceptable?

You have issues.

Its America. You do what you want. Ben is genius level intelligent and was a hell of a kid. Good family. I didnt like JBo or Garza or Kreiner any of them flexing and all of that bull. Happy for them...happy for the Hawks. Act like you've been there before is the expression.

I suppose that the Hawkeyes are the only team in America that flexes after they make a shot where they are hammered. These days, it's all about showing emotion. I get the "act like you've been there before" but have you even watched ANY other college or professional sports in the past few years?

Anything that the rules dictate. Good sportsmanship. This wasnt good sportsmanship. This wasnt an act of celebration. It was an act intended at revenge. Shove it in their face. Poor sportsmanship. I certainly hope you dont think this was proper sportsmanship. You want kids to model "suck it " "flexing" "showing up the opponent" ? Ok. If you do, that's yours to work through. Your opinion. I accept your opinion.

Duh. Lol. I dont like it. I'm not in the crowd that says legalize marijuana cuz you cant stop it. Lol I'm not giving poor sportsmanship a pass cuz kids think it's cool. I'd rather have a program that says no thank you to those kids or have a seat young man/lady.

After all this discussion here is the deal. Players in all levels need to just play and then shake hands after the game is over. That is it. First it starts with professional sports with all the histrionics after players make a simple tackle for a 1 yard loss or a sack or a pass knocked down. The player is sometimes behind by 3 touchdowns or down 15 in Bball and they act like they just won a championship by making a play. Save your going crazy for when you really do something special like making the game winning shot, game winning catch, home run etc. Enjoy during the game.

Again check out how many players go crazy making a normal play.

The coaches and ADs need to tone this down.

Yeah, let's check it out. I don't watch much NFL any more (for different reasons) but I did catch a few plays of the Bears/Packers game today. A typical pass breakup causes the DB to jump around and cross his arms like a referee signaling incomplete pass. A catch by a player resulting in a first down causes the player to get up point like a referee signaling a first down. A TD and the player scoring has some sort of celebration.

In basketball how many NBA players, after scoring a 3, come back with some sort of gesture? How many of the players when they dunk, especially in traffic, come out flexing? How many players work and force a turnover and jump around as though they won a playoff game?

Like I said earlier, I get the "act like you've been there before" attitude. I stopped playing pickup ball about 10 years ago (at 55 I couldn't get up and down the floor any more), and that was the way I played. Sadly, that attitude has been deceased for at least a decade. Celebration rules today, even celebration of ordinary plays that work out in your favor.
