If the captain can't do better than 6-6 in either of the next two seasons I highly doubt he will be the coach in 2015. If he had his way no changes would have been made in his coaching staff other than at the linebacker position. I am sure some of the wealthy natives are getting restless
 
If Iowa doesnt make a bowl this year, and they dont make one the year after that, and the following year kirk changes the program to a soccer program(the scoring is similar) then bygolly his seat might get hot. and ya know what Im fine with that because that might mean he doesnt have what it takes no more.

I think he gets another year beyond that. Don't forget, he won the Orange Bowl.
 
there's no way the hawks go 0-8 in conference this year. they're as likely to go 0-8 as 8-0........well, almost. you almost have to TRY to go 0-8.

Ya got that right. If I was a Rockerfeller I'd go to the President, not barta with my buy out offer right now. Since that is not the case, I will hope for the best this season and hope I get tons of eggs on my face. FreedComanche

Not a chance KF made staff changes for any other reason than he felt he needed to. Dude can't get fired and he knows it. Seems that some on here don't understand this. Maybe some will understand this if we win 4 games, and he is still around.

Really? So you let the bottom fall out then make changes? Gee, what a forward thinking coach you got there. He made changes cause he was feeling the heat. And, you are right, he doesn't wanna get fired.

3) Also can you think of a good D-1A coach who would keep an O. cord. on who was at the helm of an offense as horrible as Iowa's was last year? Can you think of a good fan base that would allow that bad of O. cord. to stay?

Iowa will win at least 3 of their first 4 opening games. I still expect them to finish better than 4-8. Prognosticators are usually wrong.
As for Kirk. The buy out would be huge this year. Maybe after next year.

Please explain. Is KF stubborn because he fired coaches? Did he make changes because he felt heat, but kept the easiest scapegoat?

I could see it both ways. You never know whose gonna step up and say get him outta here, or people are willing to watch ISU type numbers for a couple of years because of the buyout.
