Can someone explain why some say we’ll be better next year?

Minnesota lost 56-0 to Nebraska
Minnesota lost 52-23 to Ohio State (Iowa loses to OSU by 1)
Minnesota lost 28-16 to Michigan State (Iowa beats MSU 12-7)
Minnesota lost 35-18 to Michigan (Iowa beats Michigan 24-23)
Minnesota lost to Utah (4-7 record that year)

Minnesota was 6-5, but didn't go to a bowl game. :)

They did beat #20 Indiana.

I am a big Fry guy. I only use his similarities to KF to show how social media drive perception today. A "down year" isn't received real well around here, yet Fry followed up the '91 season with 5, 6, and 5 wins with 1 bowl appearance in those 3 years. How do you think that would be received around here now?

It would be met with some negativity and probably more support. The two aren't comparable in popularity. And I'm not in favor of firing Kirk. Sometimes it's hard to tell you are an HF fan. Glad to hear.
