Campbell over/under

Playing in the same division as Alabama doesn't sound like fun to me. Campbell doesn't feel like an SEC guy.

Well hopefully you guys got yourself your version of Kirk Ferentz in terms of loyalty.

Has Campbell ever talked about jumping to NFL in some capacity?

How about 7 win average over 10 years with highs of 10 wins and 2 seasons of low 4 or 5 wins. Making 8 out of 10 bowls and maybe just maybe a Big 12 Championship and your first New Year's 6 bowl? Would ISU fans like yourself subscribe to that future?

I would say that it is in the realm of plausibility. Campbell is trending up and the Big 12 is trending down. That could spell good things for ISU if Campbell sticks around and keeps building on defense.

I for one am ready for this state to step its game up. I'm ready for ISU to take Iowa's place as the salty unit that could bite anyone any time and Iowa to ascend to B1G West powerhouse.

I for one cant wait to see if both Iowa and ISU are ranked heading into the CyHawk game next year. I think Iowa is a lock for preseason top 25. ISU has a ways to go, but its possible they finish strong and roll some hype into the offseason. Let's turn this game up and make it mean something.

I can't see how the ISU defense will be great with what they lose after this year.

The hatred is simple -

Iowa has 4 million people. It produces around ten D1 starter level kids per year in football. It can't sustain two quality D1 P5 teams.

In addition, Ames is closer to two top 100 population metro areas in Des Moines and Omaha. In short, if ISU gets good, Iowa will decline and corporate booster support cod switch swiftly to ISU. During basketball season, almost all the talk in DSM is already about the Cyclones. Give Kieth Murphy a chance to bury the Hawkeye football program for good, and he'll do it without blinking an eye.

Campbell needs to go and Iowa needs to keep beating ISU and Nebraska, because otherwise we aren't going to be getting the top oline prospects in this region anymore.

ISU suffers significant economic disadvantages to Iowa. The grad schools at Iowa produce employees for higher income jobs. Iowa has a larger undergraduate enrollment as well. Oh, and the B1G check is much larger than what ISU can make in the Big 12. If ISU can ever out recruit Nebraska in Omaha, Delaney will need to send the Huskers to the MAC.

Apparently, you haven't been through an Iowa City drive-thru recently........

You got to quit feeling up on your coaches man. Maybe that is why none of them will stay.

If Ohio state or Mich opens up i could see him leaving for those two or possibly Penn state..He’s a midwest guy wiht midwest roots and very young family. Matt Campbell seems to be very happy at ISU and they are pouring another $70 million into facilities over the next 2-3 years.

The dude will make close to $4mil a year with bonuses and stuff..For a change ISU is also paying his staff pretty well.

There’s no way Matt Campbell leaves a program he’s building, making the money he’s making, for Purdue or South Carolina or TN type gig.

I see Campbell as a guy who thrives on the challenge of building a winning program. I mean the guy signed 2 contracts with ISU without an agent. Don’t think money is the end all be all for Campbell.

As much as it pains me to say..I think Campbell is at ISU for at least another 4-5 or 6 years..and they will likely compete for conference title once or twice IMO.

He’s built the program the right way and from the inside/out. Kinda like someone we know.

Purdy kid is legit..impressive freshman.

I see him at OSU in 2-3 years. Urban can’t cope much longer.

He was born to coach at ISU and he'll be there until he retires. Don't believe me? Here's a picture of him when he was 10:

Steele Jantz had two of his top 3 games all time agaisnt Iowa and part of the reason was our defense playing soft against them

Agree. Should have been up jamming guys and anytime you get a chance to pop a running QB make it extra hard. make them wish they never ran the ball.

We will see if he is long term legit or just this year's wonderkid who is replaced by next years 3rd string QB.
