Braylon questions if Michigan is better than Iowa

Lol that point is irrelevant. Iowa has the superior line play so evaluation of individual QB'S behind that line is based only on what the QB can do.

In Michigan's case they can't establish the LOS so the QB isn't really able to showcase himself properly.
Has he showcased himself against anybody tough? Nope.
Even "real experts" have said Patterson has shown little yet. Lot's of hype but no history other than what he showed in high school.

Hirsch got the nickname in college. He actually split his time between UW, UM, and the Marines, before entering the NFL. The race wasn't his doing but a couple others' idea and needed a sponsor. Whether one likes the race or not, it IS a successful charity event, and one copied by the B1G. Kind'a like naming something after Kinnick.
I've tried to run the BIG 5/10k in Chicago for several years and have had something going on every time.

Madison a great town to run in, down near Henry Vilas Zoo and Lake Wingra, the old railroad trails, Picinc Point, very scenic. But did Hirsch know he was on the air for Iowa's flagship station when he made those comments? If he had a vendetta with Hayden he should gone to him with it. And speaking of the pot meeting the kettle, the scores Hayden ran up were nothing like the video game totals Bert would put up from 2010-2012.

The Crazylegs event itself is first class. It's cool how it finishes inside Camp Randall. Too bad they had to have a dinglesnort lend his name to it.

I'm in no way a Biff fan but running up the score isn't one of them. That team (2010) was playing its second and third team players much of the second halves of games. Two of the games the opponents (Indiana, Northwestern) just gave up on. When you have 3 RBs run for 1000 yards each, what are you going to do and you're running the ball on almost every play of the second half? Take a knee the first play of the second half?

Hirsch was no more than a figurehead, one the pathetic athletic department needed at the time. He wasn't the brightest guy on the block but he was ALL-Badger. I suspect his outburst was due more to Fry's success against the Badgers than anything else. BTW, as I remember, Fry was pretty good at rubbing salt into the wounds of his opponents.

Let's get the good stuff out of the way first. You're right. Wisconsin's athletic department in the 1980's may have just as well been run by the Delta House. I have commented on these boards several times;. Barry Alvarez may have saved Wisconsin athletics, not just the football program. Well done, Barry.

As for the rest of your post. Did you read it before you sent it? Do you know how petty it really sounded? Let's see, when Saint Bert runs up a score he is at least putting in his second and third stringers and must be forgiven for not simply kneeling on the ball but when Hayden runs up scores he is rubbing salt in the wounds?

I was there in person for many of the whippings Fry administered. He was playing second and third stringers just like everyone else . He could have rung up 80 or 90 on Texas in the 1984 Freedom Bowl if he wanted to rub salt in someone's wounds, and Texas would certainly have qualified as someone he would love to have applied the Morton to.

Hirsch himself played on those Bob Waterfield quarterbacked Rams teams in the 1950's that passed and passed until the other team passed out. Hirsch and future NFL coach Tom Fears were beneficiaries. Those scores looked like they came straight out of a math lesson. Crazylegs has never had a pot to piss in and neither does most of your post.

WOW! What did I say that wasn't true? I didn't fault Fry for beating up on us. I said what others at other programs besides ours have said about some of Fry's shenanigans AND I explained why what YOU posted was faulty. If that hurt your brittle Hawkeye psyche, OOPS!

BTW, Wisconsin could have scored 100 against Indiana, they gave up before half, and didn't.

So it was OK for Hirsch to rip Fry at the beginning of an interview, before Zabel had even had a chance to ask him a question, when he was a guest on the Hawkeye Network's flagship station.

It was OK for drunk Badger fans to whip eggs and bottles of booze at Fry on the sidelines which could have led to serious injury.

It was OK in 1997 for a bunch of drunk Dickeyville residents to pelt dozens of eggs at Iowa's team busses when they were stopped at the old 151 intersection in town.

You claim you have sources from other programs that Hayden was rubbing it in. Yet you claim, and double down, that other teams like Indiana basically gave up and said "no mas" So Bert had no choice but to rub it in.

Not once did I make reference to Iowa's long 1980's and 1990's winning streak Wisconsin, most of which were hard fought games. That has nothing to do with this conversation, nor does Wisconsin's recent dominance. This is about your former jimoke Assistant Athletic Director and your apparent stance that Bert could be conveniently forgiven for running up scores but not Hayden.

There is no way you can accuse Hayden of rubbing salt and not Bert. It's both or neither, no what your alleged sources at other programs have said.

As for my psyche, it's one of the most secure on this board. As for my demeanor, I am generally respectful toward the Wisconsin program and the city of Madison.

I'm back, and going to demonstrate how brittle my Hawkeye psyche is.

I have a job that I love...

I'm married to my best friend of 23 years...

My oldest is proudly serving our country...

My middle child (my avitar) makes wherever she goes a better place...

My youngest is entering eighth grade and is already playing pickup basketball games with the high school varsity....

If that's a brittle psyche than I'm Warren Buffett.

We'll see you in two weeks. Goodbye and goodnight!

Where did I say it was OK for Hirsch to say that? In fact if I remember I said he wasn't the brightest guy on the block, then you went on your rant, and seem to be continuing over something that happened over 2 decades ago.

Fry said it best: "When Nebraska was beating us 57-0 or Purdue whipping us 58-13, it was 'good football'. When we let third-teams guys play their best, it's runnin' up the score?"
