I'm not a defender of all thing Ferentz, but the man/family have given tons of money to the school and the hospital, and I'm aware of personal matters that I won't publicize for which he seeks no credit or offers as a rebuttal to criticism. I just think if you're going to toss out his moral imperfections as you may see them, that he's done some decent things, too. But, to each his own. I don't look to him as a moral beacon, but as the coach of my favorite college football team.No. I give a shit. I'm glad that he had that nice run from '02-'04, gave us those great memories in late '08&'09 and I thought '15 was great. But the family just has a different moral code from mine and that's a big reason I don't particularly care for him.
Back when I was in college, my roommate went on food stamps and told me I should as well. No. My parents taught me that stuff was for the really needy and it came from taxes and taking that stuff so I could work less or buy dope or booze with my extra cash was akin to theft. My old man just turned 66 and his biggest complaint is that he's another year closer to full retirement age on Social Security, but he doesn't want it because he doesn't need it and is pissed about how it will be a huge burden on the younger generation. I think this is a fairly standard moral code of Iowans.
The Ferentz family has demonstrated they do not share this moral code and I find it detestable.
