SA is not a smart man,as I have said often.
I do not think the University ''allowed'' him to defend PP in his comments, I think he bungled the comments. I suspect that BB told him to support his athlete, but left it at that. This is America,so we have a presumption of innocence, until tried and convicted so it is not that crazy for SA to say that PP is innocent until proven guilty and leave it at that. Better yet just say that an investigation is ongoing.
That is how professional people handle stuff like this, but like I say, SA is not a bright person.
This is a very sad episode in Iowa bb history, and I just wish it would go away.
Sadly until Iowa does something more than the NIT things like this will continue to pop up, not to say Harty shouldn't have written it, but it wouldn't get as much attention.
It still upsets me though and BB could have easily said "shut up on this or you will be fined, suspended or fired" and that could have been the end of it. The whole situation the involves PP is just a case of a University totally screwing up a situation and then screwing it up further until they were forced to do something when they had no other option. PP should have been booted and whoever allowed him to plea down should have been fired. That is the problem, crimes against women are still largely swept under the rug in this Country. He was an athlete that people stood up and vouched for, how did that work out?
