Curious on your feedback ....

we know they could whip our good buddy Mr Zook

guessing .500 record if they joined up

A .500 record sounds about right.... if they played and 8 game schedule consisting of fOSU, Iowa, Wiky, Penn State twice each.

Bring it on ....

this confc would wear them down

Would love to see Ia/ BSU series as that pgm has done a hellva job
and would make for an "entertaining" matchup

Boise State is really good at football, guys.

I really think that's undetermined at this point. There are seriously 8-10 games on their schedule that they could win with their backups.

Part of being a good team is getting up for the games week in and week out. If you don't do that in the big ten you can lose to anyone, perfect example: Ohio State lost to Purdue last year, Iowa lost to Northwestern. They don't have any of those games on their schedule. They have to get up for 2 games a year.

Not to mention they keep a ton of tricks in their bag because they don't have to use them to beat those teams, making them more difficult to prepare for.

I don't discount their relatively weak schedule, but I will also not discount their talent level. They can play with anybody.

So can a lot of teams. I think they're much better than .500 in the big ten but they would probably lose 2-3 games year in and year out.

and they do not belong in the national championship game....even though they could win it.

Last year and this year they could just as easily go undefeated. They absolutely belong in the NC, especially if they could win it.

IMO, you can't say a team that "could win it" shouldn't be allowed in the national championship game. if a team is undefeated and you admit they COULD win the national title, i think that pretty much gives them every right to play for it

You just contradicted yourself.

At this point, I don't think BSU has anything else to prove. They can play with, and beat, any team in the country.

I think if they played in the Big 10 they would be a 4-4 to 5-3 type team. The reason those teams are dangerous in bowl games is because the whole team believes in the system and what the coaches teach because it got them W's. When you win, everyone buys in, even if it's against sub-par competition. They also have the best athletes usually in their respective conference. A team that buys in, has decent athletes and accustomed to winning is going to be a dangerous bowl opponent.

Lickliter's system worked.. no question. But it worked because his teams at Butler bought in because they won a lot of games with that system. It wasn't working at Iowa though and the players didn't buy in.

Boise St plays in the Big 10 they are going to lose some road games, they are going to get injured more, and they are probably not going to have quite as strong team unity.

having a month to run that offv vs Oklahoma

not the same as facing Ia/ PSU back to back

Not slamming Boise .... just don't see it

Boise State doesn't win because their players simply "buy in". They win because they have a good coaching staff and a lot of talented football players. It's insane to look at their recent results and think otherwise.

I disagree. I don't think they have the same talent level as probably half the Big 10. I bet even Illinois has more talent... with maybe 1/10th the coaching.

It's coaching, the system, and one team working in unison playing as hard as they can and executing and believing in what they are doing.

Then how is it that they can go up against teams like Oregon, Oregon State, and and Oklahoma, and take those teams to the woodshed?

You're right about coaching having a lot to do with it, but if you have **** players, it doesn't matter if the coach is any good.
