Big Changes To Black Friday

Nebraska got served a turd sandwich. Gonna miss sending them off with a L at the end of the year. Now hopefully the gophers will do it.

Maybe this thread title should read Black Friday Gone as Nov 28, 2020 and Nov 27, 2021 (dates of the last game of the season) are Saturdays.

The B1G is basically saying Iowa vs. Wisconsin as the last game will mean more than Nebby vs. Iowa. Smart move by the B1G.

Debbie will be pissed, but hey, they are on par with Minny, and Minny actually has more national titles. They should brand that game the, "We were great before HD" Bowl sponsored by Vizio.

Also, our crossovers in 2020 are brutal ... MSU, at OSU, at PSU ... and 5 BIG road games that year.

B1G 2020 schedule is brutal.

Five road games and starting the 5th week, for 3 consecutive weeks - Michigan State, @ Ohio State, @ Penn State. And if my math is correct Stanley will graduate the year before and there will be a new QB to break in.

Ouch!

Iowa's 2020 schedule is ranked the most difficult by BTN. If you look at the schedules you see 1st weekend games, 2021 Indiana plays Iowa week 1.

When GB said he couldn't commit to having an ISU game you can start to read between the lines that it may not be possible.

May not need to break in another QB if KF gives a backup QB some game time reps in 2018 and 2019.

Dang... I kinda liked playing Nebraska last. I thought that was a good tradition to have started. I think pulling the plug on it is pretty short sighted. I hate Wisky as much as the next guy but there's just some good ole fashioned rivalry hate to be had with Nebraska. Maybe it's because I was from the western side of Iowa and put up with Nebby fans a lot. But to me that's what I'd have preferred keep going... I must be in the minority

Nebby and Iowa has developed in to a decent rivalry (even though they hate to admit it) but overall I think the rivalry between Iowa and Wisconsin is much more intense. It goes back farther. Some in the northern part of the state would argue that Iowa/Minny is more of a rivalry for them than Nebby. Location does matter.

These games might STILL be played on Black Friday. But all I can say is this... last weekend of the year for B1G.... TOSU vs Michigan and Iowa vs Wisconsin... If you aren't those 4 teams, that's a kick to the dick.

Basically the BCS (final 4) of the B1G ... or East Semi and West Semi. Poor fuskers ... sliding in to irrelevance.

I actually liked the Black Friday game and I will be sorry to see it go.

That said, I have always hated Wisconsin and I think this game will decide the Big Ten West more often than Iowa v. Nebraksa.
By making this move, I think the Powers that be in the Big Ten HQ agree with me.

Anyone with inside info know exactly why they're doing it? It seems rather obvious that the B1G is saying Iowa & Wisky are the top dogs in the west.
I am a little bummed. I thought the Debby rivalry was really starting to take off.

I read they're going to rotate the final game every two years between Minnie, Nebbie, Iowa and Wisconsin. Next it will be Wiscy vs Nebbie. I have a feeling there is a lot of Nebraska politics going on behind the scenes and I don't like it.

We should have known this when they joined the B1G.

B10 prepping the schedule to resume Nebby/Okla rivalry ~2022. Puts our natural rivalry with Wisco as a marquee B10 West match up and lets Fleck and the Huskers pillow fight it out for a few years.
