Those days of playing in Kinnick North were awesome. I liked playing them the last game.
Playing Minny last game of the year was fine when they had an indoor stadium....not so much now!

I just think they are pulling the plug on something too early. Let it continue to grow. The idea of shuffling the deck around every time there's a slight shift within the 'status' of the programs is just not a good idea and will leave fans bummed. To me you pull the plug on it if you think you have something better to start right or something more drastic than that? Ok well it sounds as if this is temporary too. They are going to be revisiting it all the time. How the hell do you start a tradition if your doing that? Again they have a good thing started and their impatience and greed is leading them to shake things up. I don't like the precedent that is setting that's all.
Honestly I think it's Alvarez in Wisconsin flexing his muscles. But wouldn't surprise me if your right. I have no clue what the ratings have been for them so that could very well be the bottom line tooI don't think this ultimately came from the league....I think it came from the tv partners now that the new, more expensive deal is in place. They wanted the ability to have some variety in their programming rather than being stuck with the same game every year until the grant of rights was up....

I can't imagine playing Minnesota is gonna cause it to increase.

Typically I'm not a huge fan of Shatel....but this was a solid column I thought....Omaha Weird Herald: Blaming it on something other than their poor record the last decade.

I really doubt it. Someone else would have to join, or someone would have to leave, as I think they surely want to keep an even number of teams.I read this as a signal OU is coming to the B1G. That's not so great for Iowa, as it means the West will be OU's to lose almost every year - their average season is a two-loss season.
The two lowest populated states in the conference. Makes sense.
Nebraska can take its ball and go home, and we can welcome a winning program like OU with open arms. Fair swap. Huskers get to go play the JV ball they thrive in, and we can build our conference up. I don't see a downside.I really doubt it. Someone else would have to join, or someone would have to leave, as I think they surely want to keep an even number of teams.
NU-Iowa leaving Black Friday after 2019; rivalry rotation likely
Eichorst told Huskers.com, “Since moving to a nine-game conference schedule, it makes sense from a student-athlete health, safety and welfare perspective to play on Saturday at the end of the regular season."
Added Huskers coach Mike Riley, "I do not like to get out of the routine of what we do week to week to get ready for a game, so changing that is no fun for me because you always have a mystery of where your team is physically in what you need to do, and what you need to do in the actual preparation part of it.”

IIRC from here or elsewhere OU & Okie St. are required by Oklahoma state law to be in the same conference.I really doubt it. Someone else would have to join, or someone would have to leave, as I think they surely want to keep an even number of teams.

It looks like Eichorst is already getting heat over his comments above. That didn't take long.
From NU Media Relations:
“I want to clarify Nebraska’s position regarding the dates of our season-ending football games in 2020 and 2021 as announced earlier this week by the Big Ten Conference. At this time no final decision has been made on what dates these two games will actually be played. As in past years, the Big Ten releases opponent matchups and typically assigns these match-ups to Saturday. That has been the case in the past when we agreed to move our season ending games against Iowa from Saturday to Friday.
“Moving forward we will do everything possible to maintain our tradition of playing games on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We look forward to playing Iowa on the Friday after Thanksgiving through 2019.”
