“Moving forward we will do everything possible to maintain our tradition of playing games on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We look forward to playing Iowa on the Friday after Thanksgiving through 2019.”

Nebraska AD's prior statement:

"Since moving to a nine-game conference schedule, it makes sense from a student-athlete health, safety and welfare perspective to play on Saturday at the end of the regular season."

Nebraska Head Coach's prior statement:

Added Huskers coach Mike Riley, "I do not like to get out of the routine of what we do week to week to get ready for a game, so changing that is no fun for me because you always have a mystery of where your team is physically in what you need to do, and what you need to do in the actual preparation part of it.”

This is like Trump's messaging to the White Supremacists. What the AD and Riley are telling their fans and how they are reading it is this, "We keep losing to Iowa because of the Friday game day for our rivalry. Our weekly regiment is so good that if we change it, it becomes an unfair advantage to our opponents. Since our athletes are a tier above Iowa, they require the extra day of recovery prior to playing at peak levels. This Friday game day, gives the mediocre talent level an unfair advantage. Therefore we welcome the change of rivalry and game day."

Here's how I read that, "We need to get out of the Friday game against Iowa, because they physically abuse us and moving it up a day, only makes it worse."

I often forget that only Nebraska's routine is/was affected by the black Friday game and they're the only team that has to deal with a shortened week. I love excuses.
