Bielema to Arkansas

Seems to me that Wisky would have the resources to pay him what he wants. However , given the political climate in Wisconsin it would be tough to pay Ferentz money to any state employee.

They really think they can get Cowher, Gruden or Petersen? lol!!!

Chris Petersen turned down both USC and Tennessee after Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin left. Regardless of being investigated, you don't turn down USC and then accept an offer to coach Wisconsin a couple years later.

Jon Gruden turned down Arkansas and Tennessee. Arkansas just took Wisconsin's coach and they really believe they can get the coach that turned down Arkansas? The Walton's(Walmart), the Tyson's(Tyson Foods) and Jerry Jones are all Arkansas donors. And Tennessee, Jon Gruden was a graduate assistant there where he met his wife who was a Tennessee cheer leader. Her family lives outside of Knoxville and the Gruden's own land outside of Knoxville. Gruden also spoke at Tennessee earlier this year. If neither Tennessee nor Arkansas can land Gruden.

And Bill Cowher... lol!

Think it's safe to say that Wisconsin fans are delusional if they think they're landing any of those three.

He is now coaching in the NFL D League aka SEC the talent in that conference makes Big Ten football look like 8th grade ball.

He is going to a school where he can likely acquire talent that can compete for a National Championship.

Good move, hands down

If the razorbacks are throwing around millions I think they should be willing to pay an ex NFL offensive line coach four million a year and I have just the candidate for that job. :)

How much of this is about Alvarez walking around that place like he is Tony Soprano and never really giving Bielema his due? I haven't been a Bielema fan, but no doubt he was being paid less than market rate at Wisconsin. I'm guessing Alvarez always reminded Bielema he didn't make $2.5 million when he was 42 years old, and grumbled about Bielema never winning a Rose Bowl.

And Bielema was probably wondering why he was only the 5th highest paid coach in the conference after 3 straight Rose Bowls at a program that generates plenty of cash.

I think that's why Alvarez will go with Chryst. That's his boy, and he'll bring back those other former Wisconsin assistants. If Wisconsin keeps winning with coaches who served under him, in Barry's mind those Ws might as well go under Barry's career coaching record.

I like the idea one commenter on the ESPN story had: Biels gets canned after three years in Fayetteville, and then he ends up at Iowa. I know many of you won't like the sound of this, but I love Wisconsin's style right now.

I was thinking the same thing.

Okay. I am in Arkansas and no one had any idea and they are not amused. Can't tell who is more ****** Arkansas State fans for losing Malzahn or Arkansas fans for getting Biels.

Bret will never end up at Iowa. That would fly in the face of Kirk's master plan to have Brian follow in dad's footsteps.

Think we have a chance with any of their recruits. When the head coach leaves, don't recruits have an opportunity to look elsewhere.

couple players that Iowa was in on.
RB 4* Cory Clemment out of NJ
DE 4* Chikwe Obasih out of Wisc
DT 3* Sam Raridon out of IA
are the only names I recognize from their list of Commitments
