Yep, her commentating is awful. And even if she had male parts, it would still be just as awful.

You know, that is kind of the weird thing about how this thread has gone. No has expressed any offense at the "Beth Mowins sucks" talk. I mentioned that there is probably an element of sexism to it (which I truly believe), but I certainly was not offended by it, nor has anyone else in this thread ever indicated that they were offended. But all sorts of people took offense to me mentioning the possibility of sexism. Ironic that many who seeming to be railing against PC-culture and the notion that people are too easily offended seem to be the ones taking the greatest offense within this thread.
 
CP87 are you Alan Alda? I am truly sorry you had to give up your man card. I try to refrain, or at least in the past year, or so, from personal insults. But I am sick and tired of the candy asses that are willing to give up their nads to be PC. Go back to your women's field hockey forum.

I see nothing but numerous comments stating why they don't like her such as irritating voice and many game commentary mistakes. What the hell does that have to do with her having a vajayjay? There are male announcers who I feel the same way about.

People are in a round room and you keep trying to paint them in a corner.

Industry experts? Who cares! I know what I like or dislike.

Let it go man.
 
I am not Alan Alda, but I did love M*A*S*H growing up. I am actually a mostly-conservative leaning individual (probably identify most with Libertarian ideals), from parents who are probably best described as Tea-Party Republicans. I do believe that women are treated unfairly in a number of ways. I do not believe that should be a crutch or an excuse, but I also do not see why it is something we cannot make an effort to be more aware of and to change.

That is probably okay if you revoke my man card. I don't own a chain saw, and I occasionally enjoy sushi.

The point is that this was talking about how bad Beth Mowins is. It had NOTHING to do with her being a woman.....and yet you wanted to make it into a discussion about sexism. If I point out that Dolph probably shouldn't be doing basketball play by play, because he can no longer keep up....are you going to cry age discrimination? You are the one providing Mowins with a crutch. Not everyone is a victim, maybe that is what we should be more aware of;........ personal responsibility. Quit making PC excuses for her. She sucks, not because she is a woman....she is just a bad announcer.

Doesn't she do play by play for like womens baskeball also? I'm assuming she's not doing play by play for college football because she's good at it. She's doing it because she's under contract with ESPN and they need x amount of people to do play by play for games and having her do it doesn't incur additional costs since she gets paid regardless. As far as my opinion of her job performance. I find her voice annoying because to me it sounds like she's doing a cross between a bad impersonation of an old timey reporter from a 1940's movie and bob euker from major league. It's that staged announcer/broadcaster morning drive time DJ inflection that is super grating.
Don't mind the stupid/wrong stuff she says as it's just something to make fun of during the slow parts of a game (we do this with every announcer gaff not just hers).
 
CP87 is one of the best, we'll spoken posters on here in my opinion. I hate the PC, everyone's a victim world we live in now more than most, but he still does a good job of expressing his point. Also there is a huge difference between asking someone to think about whether they have subconscious biases and calling someone sexist. I follow you there CP. Other than that, count me in on the "I hate Beth Mowens and it's possible I am a tad sexist crowd".

Oh yea, I have one daughter (coolest person that ever lived) and one on the way.
 
I changed my mind, I can't stand mowins. I was neutral on her Before today, she's was absolutely miserable todAy. My blood pressure just went even higher hearing her voice. Like a lady at a Starbucks drive through.

Yes it made you want to leap through the TV and beat her. And no I have never hit a woman in my life, but for her I would make an exception.
