Every team that has had success like Iowa had that year has had more than one guy. USC was loaded and yet Palmer was the Heisman winner. Yes, they had a good team, but I think Banks' running ability sets him apart. You could say that ability to scramble around allowed his receivers to get open.

Banks didn't have to scramble that much to buy time for his receivers. He wasn't like Drew Tate. When he scrambled, most often it was to run and pick up yards.

And Carson Palmer was the #1 overall pick, and has had a pretty good NFL career. He had help, but he was also a much more talented player than Banks.
