Beating ISU

Not criticizing your post in any way, but I don't understand this. They win tonight I understand. But we're going improve a lot by playing a tough conference schedule and somehow make the tournament? Yet they will beat us, are deeper and have better fundamentals win 22 games in a weak conference and make the NIT.

To me that makes no sense. If they're the deeper team with better fundamentals in a weaker conference and beat us, I'd see them making the tournament and us on the outside looking in. If what you say is true, I see us struggling in conference play and although we'll be improving I don't see that translating into wins.

Like I said, not trying to flame, just don't know if I'm missing something because this doesn't make sense to me.

You're right, the logic is very hard to understand.

I think both teams are on the bubble, but ISU makes it in because they have more wins, period, whereas UI has a chance to put together a better resume just based on the amount of opportunities they'll have to add ranked wins but might not have the volume to get in.

If we slow Clyburn down and keep McGee from shooting the ball, we will win. Marble and White really need to step it up this game.

I'm really worried that Marble will get shut down by their guard Babb. One of the reasons I think we lose is because where else will the offense come from if Marble gets muffed out?

Babb's defense is quite remarkable but this year he's had a few games that were pretty iffy. Last year I would say he would have an affect but this year, I don't see his defense playing a role at all

His defense has actually picked up dramatically. He was all over BYU's guard (leading scorer) who couldn't get a shot off against him and was held to half his average. Marble poses a different dynamic with his size. I'm intrigued by that matchup if it materializes.

Babb's weakness on defense is guards who are a whole lot more athletic than him. I don't think Marble is significantly more athletic than him. IMO he can keep him in front of him and make him shoot. If Marble makes his shots and White gets to the line like we know he can it can be a very difficult night for the Clones.

Babb sucks at defense. Last year B12 recognized it at didn't honor him. Hawks roll easy once Marble and Wood get rolling. Franny is going to go all franny on them. Frantastic! Francanny!

Underrated matchup that nobody is talking about is Aaron White against ISU's bigs. ISU's bigs struggle to defend without fouling. If he could make hay at the foul line and make ISU go deeper than their top four it could get very interesting.

If White drives and gets Ejim in foul trouble, ISU will be in trouble.

Also, ISU hasn't shot the ball well from three on the road.
