Beating ISU

some don't know how Iowa's opponents are doing so Ilooked it up and posted how how they were doing.
for what kenpom has them rated they are doing better than advertised

VT 7-0 and WSU 8-0,
UTPA is 2-6
CMU IS 4-3
Howard is 2-7
Webb is 5-5
WKU is 7-2
TAMCC is 1-5
SD ST is 4-5
ISU is 6-2 and is ranked 35th by Ken pom
as these teams win their wins improve the SOS of Iowa, and a victory over ISU would help Iowa's SOS and improve rankings

And yet another herby fail. The Hawks played South Dakota, not South Dakota State.

the VT game FT shooting made a big impact VT 27-30 to Iowa's 13-18
cut down on the 3 pt shooting by half and force it inside and maybe Iowa shoots more ft's and just maybe they go 4-11 from 2 making it much closer than it ended uo being and a possible win.
3 pt shooting is nice but as they say live by the 3 and die by the 3. VT was only 4-15 from 3.
WSU Iowa was 8-15 from 3 FOR 53.3% and still lost as WSU was 7-20 for a 35% rate
3pt shooting is overrated,
last year Iowa was 2-6 from 3 while Wisconsin was 3-28 in the 1st game
the 2nd game Iowa was 10-18 for 55% and Wisconsin was 6-16 for 37%
but in the end it was FT shooting that was the difference as Iowa was 9-15 vs 2-3 for Wisconsin

I feel we need to sweep UNI and Iowa State, beat the rest of the cupcakes and then go 10-8 in the Big Ten to dance.

If Iowa finishes 21-10 (10-8 in the Big Ten they are a lock) and maybe even the dreaded 8-9 seed.

If Iowa finishes even 8-10 in the Big Ten they still will probably dance.

I'm not feeling either of those picks (unless we beat some top 5 teams on the way to 10-8. Than non-conference RPI is going to be a killer.

no chance at dancing with a losing B10 record. i'd put Iowa's NCAA chances at 5%

Do you care to elaborate on that "lulz"? I think 21 wins to be an 8-9 seed seems to be a stretch but depends on who they beat and who they lose to the rest of the season but ISU only won 23 games before the tournament and the B1G is better this year as a whole than the B12 was last year.

So either you feel that 21 isn't good enough to make the dance or be a 8-9 seed, or you don't think Iowa can et to 21 wins.

So which is it?

Or are you just to be another ISU fan trolling on here to add nothing to conversation but post "lulz" and to be here in case someone makes fun of ISU?

In my opinion, Iowa is not a NCAA bound team this year. NIT at best. Next year could be a different story though.

Thought you may be able to gather that already.

Thank you, and I agree with you actually. As an Iowa fan it saddens me that I feel that way but a lot of fans don't get that Iowa is currently starting three true freshmen, who have all struggled against more experienced or better talented teams. They are young, maybe they will progressively get better as the season goes on but I think next season will be alot better.

Plus you can't win if you can't hit threes in the B1G, not going to happen.

NIT was a stretch and they barely made it last season, they were one of the last teams in if I remember correctly. I don't see Iowa winning more games this year but I hope I am wrong.

I think so many fans are down because the flop in football so they are putting extra expectations on the b-ball team. I don't know maybe they aren't but this is a young inexperienced team either way.

That's not really his question. He posed some scenarios.

It's ok, he at least responded with a real response other than "lulz", I don't mind if ISU fans are here if they are going to add to the conversation, no matter how stupid or immature some of the posters are on this site at times.

hey, when the trashman turns into Hakeem by midseason we might have a chance to go undefeated in conference.

Who is the the trashman? And will he be changing his nickname from "Trashman" to "The Dream" if above said transformation happens?
