B10 Qb's

It was, but what the heck. I wouldn't put Nate about NW or Purdue yet. Therein is a real key to the Hawks in 2018.

KF rarely has great teams with game managers. His best are tremendous D's with a QB who looks at the sideline and says "What?" and does his own thing.

True. Having a little gun slinger attitude in our qb, seems to be when we are best.
I hope Nate understands the offensive philosophy better as he says, but you still have to have the gun slinger attitude.

IMO, people are going to be very surprised at how good Hornibrook is going to be in 2018. Especially this columnist. As an example, in 7 of the 14 games last season Hornibrook had a rating of over 150 even with all his INTs. That compares with Stanley's 5 in 13 games and both were in their sophomore year. Much of the year Hornibrook played without his best receiver. Thorson had only 3. Sindelar and Blough, 3, and Lewerke, 4. You do have to give Lewerke credit though for his running ability.

$100 says at the end of the year Nate has better numbers.
Kok is hitting his stride and has a couple horse's in the stable that I would not be at all surprised to see go on to the NFL.

Well if you think I have blinders on, I'll admit that I'm a Badger fan but I've tried to be very honest when assessing Wisconsin's strengths and weaknesses while on this board. Hornibrook will cut down on his INTs and will improve his efficiency. With the O we're going to have probably by a considerable margin.

Better numbers than Hornibrook, 4th? What numbers? Hornibrook will probably throw 60-70 fewer passes. Stanley will be playing a creampuff schedule comparatively speaking. If it's on efficiency I'll bet but I don't gamble so it will have to be a friendly one.

BTW, we have 2 and maybe 3 WRs that may end up playing on Sunday. And I'll even bet that our TEs end up with as many catches as yours and I think a lot of yours.

Better completion percentage. Yardage. Ints.
Nate put those numbers up with freshman lineman and a wr core that was well.......

4th, there was only 1 QB in the B1G who had more yards per attempt than Hornibrook and Horni averaged 2 yards more than Stanley. Hornibrook played the last half of the season with 2 starting frosh WRs. I'm going to have to take our WOs over yours. Our top 3 each averaged over 15 yards per catch.

Heck, we've got a Randall-El like little guy coming in as a frosh who was electric in spring. He may be redshirted but it wouldn't surprise me if you got to see him. He's that good. As was our redshirt frosh at HB/TE.

You are figuring out a new tackle are you not?
Plus look our top 3 wr were a juco and two freshman, with a brand new wr coach. A hungry coach.
Our ol coach was new also.
Our tackles were young also.
I can name a bunch of reasons why, but our passing game > yours.

I'll go with the proven commodity. Your pass game wasn't last year and even IF it improves, which it should, so will ours, which it too should. Don't forget, Chryst made Wilson a Heisman candidate, and Pro Bowler, and Tolzien a Unitas Award winner. Our pass game will be just fine.

Wilson is a freak. You didn't make him he transferred in and was a freak and a baller before he ever arrived in Wisconsin. His hs showed that and his early college showed that.

You're getting the success of the whole Badger team mixed up with what the article is about. The article is about the quality of the QB's in the league and ranking them, not which team is the best. What they are pretty much saying is that Hornibrook is a serviceable QB who can manage that team well. INT's have to be looked at when ranking the QB's on personal performance. He prob a good managing QB who can steer that car that is the Wisconsin Badgers. Your strength is your lines and running game and great run D. I appreciate your support for you team and Hornibrook but again, the article is ranking QB's and not what teams will end up on top or ranking of teams.

How good is a QB who can't lead his team to a win? There were multiple games that he did that. His YPA means he's throwing the ball down the field. He's NOT throwing bunnies to backs. AND for the most part completing them. He had a few bad games but for the most part had more good games than most of the guys this very uninformed writer rated above him. Why should any Wisconsin QB throw 30 times a game when 20 will do the trick. Wisconsin led the B1G almost the entire country in 3rd and long success. Who did that?

Wilson and Cousins we're very impressive qb's
Stanzi, Banks and Beathard. Are pretty good too.

Wilson very publicly credits Chryst for his success as a Pro QB not the staff at NCSU.

Wilson's efficiency rating went from an average of about 135 at NCSU to 191 in his year at UW.
Tolzien what people here said was a Saturday night special to fill out our class when he was recruited had a 166 efficiency rating. The best Stanzi had was 158. Beathard averaged 130, Brad Banks 157. I guarantee Hornibrook's efficiency in 2018 will be at least 160 probably more.

BTW, if Wilson's HS play was that good, why was he only a 2 star? I'll give you that he was a gifted athlete.

Well, I'm pretty sure it's much easier to throw down field when you have one of the best offensive lines in the country. We started two freshmen last year due to injuries (queue Sirius regarding excuses) and in the games we played against good teams (minus OSU) Stanley ran for his life. I know you had some injuries at WR...but it's still a lot easier to throw down field when you have protection and guys have time to get down field. Comparing the two results has to be taken with a few caveats.
