At what point do you start White?

I agree with the 6th man stuff. It is nice to have a #6 and even a #7 on your team that COULD be starting.

I like to save a few of those for a spark. It's cliche, but it's not who starts the game....

This is an outrageously racist topic. JihaddyP, you're such a bigoted jackazz.

It's not who starts a game that matters, it's who finishes the game. When it comes down to crunch time, White will be on the floor and I think that's all that matters.
I like continuing to bring White off the bench at this point.

he can start but i was brought up under the belief if it aint broke dont fix it. and right now the rotation isnt broke. some people are more fit as bench players. lamar odom when he was with the lakers had much better numbers as the 6th man than he did when he started. the key is that at the end of the game the best lineup is finishing. and white will usually be in that group.

I really like him coming off the bench. Almost every game lately he provides instant offense which really gives the team a boost.

In Fran's system all worthy players get playing time, and it is nice to have a potential scoring machine studying the game on the bench anxiously awaiting his chance.....

I can see May starting, I am one of the only ones, because of his experience. He plays very good D, rebounds, and helps bring the ball upcourt when needed. He is a steadying influence on the team, along with Matt.....

I also like Bryce off the bench right now. Both he and White coming in the game, fresh and ready to go is an advantage for the Hawks.....

I do believe that Aaron will start next year.....

On another side note, NW's floor is hideous.....

:)

Spot on Sir.

The correct answer is White should be starting.

Thanks to all that participated even if you were wrong.:)

we're not really in a position to just have our best players riding the pine to start games.

We just beat Wisconsin in the Kohl Center with Cartwright and White coming off the bench. So why are we talking about disrupting that rotation, again?

How about we bring them in on the first dead ball?

Let's see. We just won two straight conference games for the first time in like 5 years. We seem to have a decent rotation going. And now, a bunch of folks want to change the starting line-up? Wonderful. I would have agreed a month ago and in fact was screaming to do so, but, guess what, I was wrong. The line-up / playing time is working just fine right now. Don't you think? Unselfish players will find their way onto the floor for minutes no matter if they start or not. Ask a kid if he had his choice, does he want to start? or does he wanna be on the floor when the game is on the line and it really, really matters?

As a coach your always looking for ways to improve. You dont just leave things the way they are just because you've won games. I personal believe that White should be starting, I think that above everything else, he has earned that right. He has far out produced May. That energy that he brings off the bench, he'll bring right from the beginning. Maybe May will bring energy off the bench. Couple things that maybe Fran is thinking that maybe holding him back is 1. May has fragile confidence and the move would destroy that. 2. Just wondering if Fran is somehow protecting White from the possibility of Foul trouble, he does see him everyday in practice. I trust Fran, we have already improved immensely since November, so what he decides is good with me. What matters is who's in at the end of game anyway, and White seems to be out there most of the time.

Anyone that has played ball knows that it pisses you off if you are one of the best players and not starting. Doesn't matter who is getting the minutes and who is in at the end. Its all about being a starter. Theres no worse feeling than working with the B team in practice when you know you should be starting.

It didn't seem to bother John Havlicek.

White is dang good, and is one of our five best...but man he does get gassed...after a couple trips down the floor at one point last night, he was the last one back up and down the floor. Maybe start him and then rotate him out than back in. Idk for sure...all I know is next year I think we have a heck of a line up out there with:
PG- Gessell or Clemmons
SG- Marble
SF- White
PF- Basabe
C- Woodbury
Bench
Mccabe
May
Ingram
Olesani
Meyer
Wow I am pumped for next year, finally quality depth, imo Mccabe and May are great guys off the bench. Mccabe is that "dirty" post player who won't back down and May is the athlete.
