Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME???

I realize it's a rule and I realize the MSU player did run into him, so technically speaking, yes - it's a penalty.

On the other hand, it's the freaking first ever Big Ten championship game...you want it to be determined because a legitimate player (i.e. non-punter) went hard after the punt and happened to run into the punter? And plus, did you happen to get a load of the super slo mo replay? The Wisky punter could have easily kept his feet - watch the replay, he clearly lifted his foot up so he could "make it look good".

I'm sorry...by the letter of the rulebook, correct call. But as far as being a legit game outcome - total bs. Load of crap.

So...you were rooting for MSU?

Who cares if it was the punter or anyone else. They are legitimate players too. They called a penalty and it was against MSU and because of that penalty, it cost them the game. That is football.

Randomly changing the rules just because there is 1:30 left in the game opens a large can of worms.

You needed to stop after your first sentence. Not just the "letter" of the rulebook -- it is the letter and the spirit of the rulebook to protect an exposed kicker. The rest of your comment is just meaningless blather.

Serves MSU right. A nice flop by the punter but correct call. MSU is the best team at flopping and acting injured to stop a teams momentum. Serves them right to lose the game that way so they cold have a taste of their own medicine.

Thugtonio just said on the post-game he didn't know whether the punter was touched or not on the attempted block. Hey, Thug, watch the video. It was your freaking fault for failing to tell your guy WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T RUN INTO THE KICKER! I mean, I know your guys are used to flopping at the end of games. But you have to expect that skilled players are going to sell the foul just as well.

It was clearly a penalty. He ran right into him. It wasn't like he grazed him. He hit his leg and right into his hip. I wouldn't call it a flop, but the punter probably did exaggerate it a bit which is EXACTLY what he should have done. That play gave Wisconsin the Rose Bowl, because without it MSU scores the game winning TD.

At the very least I don't see how MSU doesn't kick a field goal. Wisconsin wasn't stopping them much all game. I don't really understand why they were trying to block it in the first place.
