Are we the third best team in Iowa?

Guys, you can't argue with someone who buries his head in the sand after they've found a statistic that supports their narrative. You actually think you will change 5656's mind? He's done this over and over on here. Those of us that actually watch the games know how and why MG got all of those assists. MG was terrible at throwing the ball into the post, I can't count all the times a big would have his man posted up and MG would keep throwing the ball around the perimeter, this is also why his TO rate was low because he wouldn't make the difficult passes. But, again, those are things that don't show up in statistics.

He melted down in games at the end and he made some big plays at the end of games too. I never said he was some clutch player but to say he was a subpar distributor is going to be hard to top for dumbest thing said on here

Again, look at the number of games he played. Just a quick comparison to someone he passed in the record books later in his career... Andre Wooldridge. Gesell played 134 games in his career. Woolridge played 97. Now do the math genius. 37 more games in your career is going to give you a damn good shot to pass someone in number of assists.

Because I don't agree with you I don't actually watch the games. Mike didn't have Cook and Pemsl to throw it in the post to, our strength was on the perimeter with Uthoff and Jok last year and White and Marble before that. You guys will be bashing Bohannon in 4 years once he's gone too I'm sure

I'm surprised a subpar distributor even got a chance to play 134 games at the PG position. I figured he'd be riding the bench!

Evidently you don't, there are many pages in this thread of people trying to reason with you and many more in other threads and yet all you do is repeat the same thing over and over. Think about this for a second (this goes for everyone), is there anything a person could say that would change your mind on MG being a great passer? If you answer honestly then this argument should be over as it's pointless.

I think Mike was a great passer his senior year. He set a school record for most assists in a season. I don't even know why someone would want to argue that

If you're saying Fran would have played Mike over Bohannon if they were in the same class I agree with that

That's not what I'm saying at all. Learn to comprehend. Mike would have been riding the bench if Bohannon were in the same class as him. He would have probably had a chance early on to earn the starting job, but his lack of improvement would have resulted in the job going to the better passer, shooter, and clutch performer.

Haha no. Just no.

Haha yes. Just yes. See I can do that too!

Only one person here is making himself look like an idiot, and it's the same one who has been doing it for months. I think we all know who that is.

I don't think you've made yourself look like an idiot for months, the subpar distributor really hurt your image though

If you have a better offensive rating I think you are the better offensive player if things are comparable. Saying Wagner was better offensively than Uthoff last year because he had a better offensive rating doesn't make sense but when you're comparing two similar situations I think it's the best way to determine. PER is a really good stat, probably the best out there actually but I don't even bring it up anymore because it's not worth arguing with you about it since you say it shouldn't count for some reason

How good is a kid with a lower than 92 offensive rating?

You can use PER if you like as well. One stat doesn't tell a story.

Everyone is saying Mike was good. If you watch BB or look at most any stat Jordan is on par with Mike as a Fr so far. You find one efficiency stat that says Mike is a little better, welp if you are gonna live and die by that stat get ready to look stupid. I am mobile all day, but I'll take some time after the game tonight and show you how it is completely idiotic to say a player is better because of an offensive rating or PER, doesn't matter to me.

The point here's isn't who is better, it is that you are trolling and trying to make the case one was good (Mike) and one is totally horrible (Jordan). If you knew anything about basketball you would understand how stupid that makes you look.

Oh and BTW don't forget to answer the question. Is the kid who registers lower than 92 offensive rating good or has the ability to be good? I mean if that is all we look at we can assume that Mike was a better player than this kid, right?

If a kid has a 92 offensive rating he had a bad year offensively for sure.

What? No sweeping all encompassing statements about what his 4 year college career will look like??? I mean he has a chance to improve? I thought this was an all telling stat that would tell us everything there is to know about this kid.

Why do you assume that Jordan can't improve his current 30%FG%, but you don't make those assumptions about this kid? In essence you and I both know that is what is hurting Jordans offensive rating right now. He is averaging nearly as many PPG and nearly double the APG, he is just shooting extremely poorly inside the arch right now.

When did I say Jordan can't improve? I said he's worse than Mike last year and is worse than Mike was as a freshman because he has been. Of course he can improve and be much better than Mike. I wouldn't predict him to with his limitations but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. Hell he could end up being a lottery pick in the NBA for all I know

Then just drop the whole act that thinking Jordan is good is stupid. Mike was better at 2 Pt FG shooting, that is the only reason his offensive rating was higher. Clearly Jordan is a better 3 pt shooter, better assist man. It isn't some HUGE difference between what Mike did as a Fr and what Jordan is doing

Saying Jordan has been so far is just not true though. He's been inefficient offensively and poor defensively. If you say you think he could be good in the future that is at least a possibility

If Uthoff was on this team starting for Wagner, JB would be averaging more assists than Mike did as a senior. Assists have a lot to do with who you're passing the ball to.

So by your theory Bohannon's assists will probably go down next year with Jok gone
