Are ISU fans on the ledges of tall buildings?

Hogue and Burton will play the exact same position.

I don't think they will be much worse if at all next year, and I think there is very good reason.

He and Woj did not get along at Marquette. That isn't a secret, the guy transferred a semester into it. I think he will still be in a better situation at isu.

Burton will average at least 4-5 rpg next year. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but let's be honest that's not a ton of rebounds when the guy will likely average 25 mpg and they will need him to get rebounds.

Them needing him to get rebounds has nothing to do with how many he'll actually get. He is playing the same position as Hogue as a starter, but will he get moved down to the 4 spot when McKay or Niang need a break? I believe Hogue played some 4 at times. Burton is only listed at 6'4 and Hogue was 6'6. I get that Burton is a little bit thicker than Hogue was, but still 6'4 is pretty short for a 4 man so I doubt he'll be used much in that role. That will probably be Nader's role.

I've never seen Burton play. I've seen Hogue play. Hogue's best asset was his heart. He played hard. He gave everything he had. Plus at 6'6 220 Hogue was not skinny. He was built. I don't think Burton is by any means fat at 6'4 240, but I would question how much stamina is he going to have? If he does give the kind of effort that Hogue did will he gas out? Seems to me that at 6'4 it would be wise to get him down to 220 or 230.

Yeah, I mean Burton will get along with Prohm perfectly. I mean it isn't like he came to ISU for a different head coach and then gets stuck with a new coach like what happened with WoJo at Marquette....

If you are so confident, let's make a $20 bet that Burton doesn't avg Hogue type RPG numbers. I'm flush with cash from my $20 bet with jacktronic that Hoiberg would be gone in 14 months (only took a month or so)

Phat stack of Washingtons.

I don't bet money on message boards, no offense dean I know you'd be good for it. Anything else I'd be willing to bet, the standard stuff like sigs etc. Set the over/under at 4.9, hogues #'s from last year

Welp, whatever you wanna donate, errrrrr, I mean bet is fine by me. I do feel kind of guilty preying on Clown fans that are delusional like this. First I get Jacktronic to bet that Hoiberger was staying (just poking some fun at ya Jack, you were stand up guy). Now I got you telling me that Burton is gonna be grabbing 'bounds right and left. If only I could have trusted that d0uchenozzle foreveriowan to pay up, he would be into me for some Benjamins big time with his idiotic NCAA statements

5 rpg is grabbing rebounds left and right?

I think Prohm's ultimate success will have less to do with the current roster and recruits, than how bad the "Fred fatigue" gets to him. With all the ongoing masturbation over Hoiberg, you have to believe he's gonna get tired of hearing that name. I have a feeling it's not going away. Hell they were talking about Seneca Wallace 10 years after he was gone.

It sounds like they are going to focus on jucos and transfers. It doesn't sound like he will be that successful.

It's all in good fun. Besides, I'm gonna get that twenty back next Selection Sunday. ;)

Naw, they just need some shiny objects. A Prohm coin and a couple more insecure billboards should do it.

There's quite a few rumors going around that Prohm wasn't the first one offered the position. Bryce Drew was supposedly the first choice but he turned them down. There's even some folks on CyFan claiming they heard a 2nd coach turned down the job as well before it was ultimately offered and accepted by Prohm.

I have nothing to verify any of that, but if it's true.... Ouch.

You know what they say, where there is smoke there is fire. I would bet since Pollturd made a big deal of saying that he was the ONLY and FIRST coach offered, that he most certainly wasn't.

No doubt. He was probably far enough removed of the situation to really have no idea how bad the Fred love really was. He's going to figure out very quickly that he'll never have the success they think Hoiberg had. In a lot of fans' minds, he turned this team into a final four blue-blood program. Just getting them into the tourney won't suffice. Guess we'll see how he handles it.

We will see how he holds up. He has some big shoes to fill with clone fans. Sort of how Kirk had it following Fry. Iowa slipped at the end of coach Fry's last few years making Kirks start easier.

Oh I'm sure Pollard or Leath would never admit it. That makes them and the university look awful. Sounds like Drew decided against it because if he were to decide to leave his alma mater he would only do so if he received an offer from a bigger and more prestigious school. Double ouch. So much for the blue blood theory.

Folks inside of Story county don't realize how insignificant ISU is on the National scene.
