Hogue and Burton will play the exact same position.
I don't think they will be much worse if at all next year, and I think there is very good reason.
He and Woj did not get along at Marquette. That isn't a secret, the guy transferred a semester into it. I think he will still be in a better situation at isu.
Burton will average at least 4-5 rpg next year. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but let's be honest that's not a ton of rebounds when the guy will likely average 25 mpg and they will need him to get rebounds.
Them needing him to get rebounds has nothing to do with how many he'll actually get. He is playing the same position as Hogue as a starter, but will he get moved down to the 4 spot when McKay or Niang need a break? I believe Hogue played some 4 at times. Burton is only listed at 6'4 and Hogue was 6'6. I get that Burton is a little bit thicker than Hogue was, but still 6'4 is pretty short for a 4 man so I doubt he'll be used much in that role. That will probably be Nader's role.
I've never seen Burton play. I've seen Hogue play. Hogue's best asset was his heart. He played hard. He gave everything he had. Plus at 6'6 220 Hogue was not skinny. He was built. I don't think Burton is by any means fat at 6'4 240, but I would question how much stamina is he going to have? If he does give the kind of effort that Hogue did will he gas out? Seems to me that at 6'4 it would be wise to get him down to 220 or 230.
