Are ISU fans on the ledges of tall buildings?

I never said that. My expectations are sweet 16, any more is gravy.

My point is that the team's depth is the exact same as last year and the year before. So if it wasn't a problem then then it isn't a problem now,

The rebounding category will prove you wrong. No sense arguing it. We'll see. It was the Cyclones biggest weakness this past season and I think it will be worse this coming season.

Come on bro, they have a 6'4" guy who fell out of the rotation on a bad Marquette team coming in, all their problems are solved.

Why will it be worse?

To me it ultimately comes down to Nader vs Hogue, and I don't think Nader is the same type of "energy" guy that Hogue was. If they want to be the same or better on the glass then it will need to come from Burton and Nader.

Is he even on the team? Sounds to me like he's not coming back since Fred left and his butt buddy Clayton Custer got his ride pulled. You literally don't have a single frontcourt reserve on the roster if Nader starts.

Source? Hawk fans seriously have the hardest time distinguishing players that want to transfer vs players that got their "ride pulled". Just because a player decides to transfer doesn't always mean that they got their scholly yanked. If that was the case over 40% of all college basketball players get their scholarships pulled at some point in their career.

Bryce, hate to disagree with you, but Iowa State needs to get another big man badly. Teams with lesser talent will just need to play more physical than ISU to have a solid shot to beat them (UAB). Noone is denying that Iowa State doesn't have the talent on their roster, but there are certainly some glaring holes in regards to their front court depth.

Also, for the cupboard is bare crowd, take a look at your own roster after this upcoming season. Iowa State will return about the same talent that Iowa does. Morris (50-50), Thomas, Burton, Cooke, Nick Babb, Noskowiak. Although all backcourt players/SF's, definitely not starting from scratch with that core.

Hogue took a if step back rebounding last year. Burton should be able to match what he did.

The rotation last year was McKay and niang with Nader backing them up. Once burton is available he slides into hogues role and it's effectively the same situation as last year. The depth thing for next season is completely overblown.

If depth wasn't a problem last year, and it wasn't, then it isn't a problem next year either.

ha ha ha ha ha. I think Iowa State will have a fine team, but they don't sound like one of the top teams in the country to me. They don't sound like one of the top 30 teams in the country.

Pretty sure a kid who avg 1.4 and 2.2 RPG at Marquette isn't gonna match Hogue who avg. 8.6 and 4.9 RPG.

But Burton SHOULD be able to match that. That's his logic. Bryce I feel like you are usually pretty reasonable, but it really seems like you're struggling to take the blinders off here.

Look at several of the losses ISU suffered last year. Getting pushed around and outworked inside was the single most obvious area of weakness. There is absolutely nothing to suggest things will be different with this next team.

So you are saying that if nothing changed from last season, isu should spend the entirety of the year in the top 25, win 25 games, and have one of the best seasons in school history? Ok!

and then gets out rebounded by 19 to a middle-of-the pack Sun Belt team.....Didn't even try to box people out.....Had an absolute cakewalk to the sweet 16 and urinated it down their leg. Ok, if that is what Cyclone fans want.

When did he have those averages?

Hogue had 302 reb, avg. 8.4 RPG his Jr. year
Hogue had 166 Reb, avg. 4.9 RPG his Sr. year

Burton had 11 Reb in 8 games played last year for a 1.4 RPG avg. while playing 16.1 MPG
Burton had 69 Reb in 32 games his first year for a 2.2 RPG avg.

You left out
1) Won't win the Big12 regular season,
2) Play really inconsistently with a lack of focus and mental toughness
3) Getting bounced in the 1st round of the NCAA
4) Probably have to run whatever coach they hired as every ISU fan thinks that ANY COACH should take this team to the final 4.

Once JP quits blowing smoke up people arses and hires TJ I wonder if he tries to continue what FH was doing or attempts to immediately try and put his own stamp on the team.

They also lost BDJ who was a good rebounder and replaced him with a 6'3" shooter who just had hip surgery.

Everything about this year just smells like a disappointment. It started with a flame out in the first round to #14 seed UAB, then the even bigger loss of Da Mayor. Next will be the hiring of Otz. Then a 4 win football team (although some Clown fans will see this as a good season). After that ISU won't win a Big12 title or tournament title and cap it off with another loss in the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.......A team that Clowns view as a National Championship quality team, a team so talented that any coach could get them to the final 4.

It should be a fun year to watch them meltdown.

So you are suggesting that it's unrealistic that Burton average about 3 more rpg to about match what hogue did?

Unless there's an injury, then it becomes a huge problem.
