Are Hawkeye Fans becoming Cub Fans?

A few things. One, not all opinions are equal. Two, the OP didn't give an opinion, he asked a question. Third, he didn't explain or elucidate his question in any particular way, which made it such a bizarre and confusing question, it is difficult to take seriously.

And fourth, it's not "They're opinion, it's "Their opinion". You clearly didn't mis-type, but rather don't know when to use the proper form of those various homophones. That is what makes me better than all the others.

The OP asked a general question, but I fail to see where he asked to be insulted or have his intelligence mocked. Maybe you can point me in that direction since your post reeks of intellectual elitism. Secondly, the mistake in grammar on his part could have easily been the result of autotype on a phone as opposed to intent. Since you are now in the business of enforcing grammar on this board, maybe you should hold yourself to the same standard and use proper punctuation and complete sentences throughout your own posts.

I know, this thread needs some clarification. Let me try to put in my 2 cents:

Some posters reacted immediately, and badly to the OP's question.

Are they 'tired' of people constantly slamming their Cubs? If so, I'm not gonna reach them with this post. Is there another group of Iowa fans who are 'tired' of posters like the OP who compare lovers of losers(da Cubs) with lovers of da Hawks?

Anyway, I know I don't want all the guff, and flaming that will come from some Hawk fans after they read all of this... Yet, I invite it, I guess, when I say: I think I understand the OP's point...
If I had the gumption, I'd write a Hawk stock article like Jon. That one would be on Iowa fan attitudes.

I'll try to be brief:

For example,
Cub fans care about atmosphere.
Cubs fans care about the stadium.
Cubs fans care about the beer.
Cubs fans care about the friendliness of other Cubs fans.
Cubs fans care about maintaining traditions.

So do Hawkeye fans...

It seems neither group particularly cares about winning..

Off the top of my head, here are some examples of Hawkeye football poster's great concerns:
Iowa fans care about maintaining traditions.
Iowa sends a great many players to the NFL.
Iowa's scoring defense is top notch.
All Iowa players must be 'team' players - this seems to be a Ferentz credo.
Few 'top notch' high school players come from the state of Iowa.

I don't want so much fuel that it'll dillute my point... which is:
when Iowa starts thinking more about winning ballgames, Iowa will win ballgames.
