Anyone NOT Want To See Ferentz Go? If So .....

Agree with eyek, KF has put Iowa in a good position to continue to compete.
We all get frustrated on some gamedays, but kf can fix it...go vertical ...new OC.

If KF is gone, the top recruit Epenesa and dtackle Harris probably gone....we have the facilities to compete finally...KF can turn this. Also...he has a contract.

Thats just not reality.

Look at the schedule we just lost 5 games against, look at the OC KF picked, look at how bad his offenses have usually been, look at the QB he choose to play over a far more talented one, look at the last ten years records.

all evidence and common sense points to more of the same old.

Im talking about this season.

And that's the issue. We are always a few plays away from winning two or three more games, but it never changes.

We keep losing to bad teams over and over and over again.

weve heard this song and dance about the OC before, remember when Everything wrong with the Iowa program was KOK, that turned out to be garbage.

Enough is enough.

I was not aware of these rule changes...So Alabama won't be able to let their 5* studs play or practice their freshman year?

http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2012-04-26/new-eligibility-standards-start-2016

The new initial-eligibility requirements create a higher academic standard for freshman to play. That standard is higher than what will be needed to receive aid and practice, creating an academic redshirt year.
Student-athletes who achieve the current minimum initial-eligibility standard will continue to be eligible for athletically related financial aid during the first year of enrollment and practice during the first regular academic term of enrollment. Student-athletes could earn practice during the second term of enrollment by passing nine semester or eight quarter hours.
For immediate access to competition, prospective student-athletes must achieve at least a 2.3 GPA and an increased sliding scale. For example, an SAT score of 1,000 requires a 2.5 high school core-course GPA for competition and a 2.0 high school core-course GPA for aid and practice.
Prospects also must successfully complete 10 of the 16 total required core courses before the start of their senior year in high school. Seven of the 10 courses must be successfully completed in English, math and science.

This is the poorest reason to hang on to a coach that I can think of.. Keeping the status quo because you're afraid of doing worse. Making a change might work out, too.

Besides, Kirk Ferentz is no longer producing the same kind of results Tom Davis did. It isn't 2002-04 anymore......

TD's last 4 years:

1995-96: NCAA 2nd round (6 seed)
1996-97: NCAA 2nd round (8 seed - 2nd place Big Ten finish)
1997-98: NIT
1998-99: Sweet 16

KF's last 4 years:

2011: 7-6
2012: 4-8
2013: 8[5
2014: 7-5

I'm sure at least a couple of Tom Davis's teams in that 4 year stretch finished ranked, and that's out of 300+ D1 teams. KF hasn't produced a single ranked team in the last four years, and that's out of a little over 100 teams, where it technically should be much easier to be ranked compared to college hoops, with roughly a third as many teams competing for a spot in the Top 25.

No, I don't think the "remember Tom Davis" drivel really applies anymore.

I agree with you....I was just being snarky, because there is always SOMEONE who brings up Tom Davis when talk turns to getting rid of Ferentz.

...... man up now and state why. We've heard the negative and from those wanting change. What about reasons why you think we should stay the course. I'd be interested.

So from what I've seen from this thread, it's an excuse for everyone who wants Kirk gone to down vote any reason (legitimate or otherwise) to keep Kirk as coach.
