Try looking at it from the recruit's perspective. Especially a local Iowa kid. I was born and raised in Iowa. As were many of you. I grew up being a Hawkeye fan, and if I would have been blessed with enough talent to receive a Hawkeye offer I would have been f'in pumped up about it. I graduated from high school in 2004, and at that time many high school players visited websites like Iowa Preps and posted frequently on internet message boards. I guarantee you now days most recruits pay a visit to message boards. Especially so right after they make their committment. Wouldn't you want to get a pulse on how excited the fanbase is to welcome you into the Hawkeye family?
And then... you pay a visit to a solid website like HawkeyeNation to see what fans are saying about you, and there's a couple idiots like these guys who completely ruin the thread because they can't get over themselves and their own bitterness. It's just ridiculous, and it's in very bad taste in my opinion.
