Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III

Aw jeez, way to many carbonated beverages tonight. I really could care less about the Rams.

Go Bears!

Just my opinion but I feel like this is your agenda here and it clouds you’re “upside†comment. That’s why every time they trot some cat like this out everyone gets all fired up for it, but in reality, it doesn't ever happen.

A guy with an arm like Brady will always be waaayyy be more valuable than a guy who can run, and a guy who can run won’t run for very long! “Running†or rather being able too is a completely different mindset, than throwing your way out of trouble. You don’t become Tom Brady if you can use your legs to get out of trouble, and eventually “that†goes away.

And the above is why I made my initial comment about how people process things. Maybe I’m the one who thinks wrong, really…!! But people forget Steve Young was an electric athlete, so was Doug Williams and they both proved it in the USFL…they didn’t get good until they threw it and threw it and threw it some more and quit relying on their legs. Randall Cunningham was a much better QB when he couldn’t run as well.

Everyone always gets tricked by the glitter…IMO. The best football players in the NFL are still “football†players, not the speed merchants and “athletesâ€â€¦we have no clue how RG3 will throw at that level….there are way more examples of guys like him not making it, than the other way around. In fact it’s not even a debate……in fact I’m not sure there is one yet..I got on the Cam Newton train pretty quick last year and in all honestly, he didn’t throw better as the year progressed he threw worse and he is way more equipped to handle that beating than RG3.

It is my opinion that people are just desperate for a spread QB to make it big and they are outliers, In just my opinion of course.

I personally don't care for the spread at all. And I agree that guys who rely on their legs eventually lose that edge to their game, and many wind up going down the drain at that point. The thing with Griffin, for me, is that I think he can become an elite passer regardless of his mobility. The athleticism is just a bonus. I don't see him as a runner who can throw. He's a passer who can run. There's a mile of difference between the two. And Griffin's got all of the intangibles, too. He just appears to be the total package, with icing on the cake.

You clearly didn't watch these teams if you think this. Griffin averaged 8.94 YPA, Luck 8.71. Griffin's accuracy on his deep ball is incredible.

You might say the spread emphasizes the short/intermediate routes, but so does the West Coast offense, which is basically what Luck was running (hard to run anything else when your receivers don't have a lot of speed).

Difference is RG3 actually had WR to throw to, Luck didn't he completely most of his passes to RB and TE because they lacked the skill at WR big time.

And I wouldn't argue otherwise. I'm just saying that Griffin's offense didn't emphasize the short/intermediate routes any more than Luck's did, so the argument that Griffin's completion percentage was inflated because he was making easier throws holds no water.

This trade is a perfect example of why the Redskins will never be good under Snyder. What a terrible trade for Washington.
