Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III

That black quarterbacks have a fairly low success rate? Griffin isn't Mike Vick or Vince Young. He's a FAR better passer, and WAY smarter than both of those guys put together. He's not an athlete who plays quarterback. He's a quarterback who's an athlete.

I don't know what that posters reasoning is but I've heard his height has been a bit of a concern for teams (when I say bit, I literally mean bit as he's still easily a top 5 pick)

I am not saying that this isnt true, but where did you get this information? Based on what I have read most pro scouts agree that Andrew Luck is the most NFL ready QB since John Elway. He played in a pro style offense, and against better defenses than RG3. They are similar in arm strength, luck would have an edge in accuracy (I know they had similar complete percentages, but RG3's spread O focused on short to intermediate routes), and RG3 is the better athlete. Both can be successful QBs in the NFL, but it seems like Luck would carry the least risk as his transition to the NFL would present less of a learning curve.

You clearly didn't watch these teams if you think this. Griffin averaged 8.94 YPA, Luck 8.71. Griffin's accuracy on his deep ball is incredible.

You might say the spread emphasizes the short/intermediate routes, but so does the West Coast offense, which is basically what Luck was running (hard to run anything else when your receivers don't have a lot of speed).

They are both absolutely phenomenal prospects. I say RG3, though I don't think you would go wrong with either.

He is not as good as advertised if anyone would watch Baylor games they would know.

Smartest post in a long time. Griffin was clearly a product of playing for such a college football powerhouse. It's just like Matt Leinert at USC, anyone can win the Heisman at Baylor. I doubt anyone even watched him play, they just declared him the best player since he plays for Baylor without even watching him.

Andrew Luck is at least a double while RG3 is a home run or a whiff. Colts will play the odds and take Luck.

I agree with this, I say at least a triple though. :D

RG3 could be great, but like you did say as well he could absolutely flop. I'll take my chances, go with Luck and bank that he will be good if not great.

I actually watched quite a few of their games. And what do you imagine the YPA would be had you switched their receiving corps? Luck had marginal speed at WR, and Baylor had some of the most explosive WR's in the nation. So, that may skew that YPA. And Griffin threw more short and intermediate routes, I didnt say he threw only short and intermediate routes. The opinion noted in my previous post was not just my opinion, it was some of the thoughts I read by draft experts that have been posted on several sites(of course there is differing opinions, but the consensus was that Luck was the more accurate of the two). Again, I think they are both very talented QB's, I just think that Luck is the safer pick, and will have a more successful NFL career. They both had exceptional stats, but only one of the two offenses catered to the strengths of their QB, and had above average WR's. That was RG3 and Baylor.

I don't think there's any way you can pass on Andrew Luck if you have the #1 pick. That's not to take anything away from RG3, because he is electrifying and just a sick athlete.

Griffin wore superman socks to heisman ceremony....I take Luck everytime. If im spending millions I want a qb that doesn't have a massive ego. A student of the game...aka not jamarcus russell

So are you saying that because he won the Heisman he will be a great pro quarterback? How good can he be when Illinois held him to 14 points. Illinois!!

lol. have u seen his interviews? there's a big difference between ego and personality. this guy is NOT russell. Luck is the safer pick but ur premise is way off.

I'd take Luck #1, but I think Griffin pans out to have a good career. He isn't a slouch when it comes to pocket passing and he makes very good decisions. He's also pretty accurate with his passes. That said, I hope he doesn't end up in Cleveland.

Wearing superman socks is awesome.

And if Griffen does have a massive ego there is no precedence whatsoever for a guy with an ego to be good at sports.

I, mean, aside from almost ever top level superstar in the history of sports having a massive ego.

So all you do is argue with people on this board and make yourself look like an idiot?

Sorry dude, but when you say ridiculous things like:

"He is not as good as advertised if anyone would watch Balyor games they would know."

and

"How good can RGIII be when Illinois held him to 14 points. Illinois!!"

you are the one who makes himself look like an idiot.
