Officially, Hubbard decided to leave Iowa and Fran seemed confused by it.I forgot about that guy. Hubbard immediately burned Fran and got the boot, though.

There are actually more 5'10" or 5'11" guys in P6 conferences than you'd think. You don't tend to see that many guys Ulis' or Locure's size in P-6 conferences, more in mid-majors. I get though that Ulis did OK and so could TL.
Im not so optimistic

His hair might make an accurate guess on that tough. I've seen a video of him being able to dunk so regardless of if he's under 5'10 or not the kid has quicks and hops. I love that he's gotten so many steals. He likes D and hustles. I think the only thing keeping him from being a 5 star recruit is about 5 inches of height.Locure isn't 5'10 . He is more Ulis size, 5'7 or 5'8 tops.

Nor am I. "Doing it the right way" doesn't seem to include firing a head coach while his son is on the roster. Like it or not, we've got Fran through 2022. Win or lose. Unless another AD is hired.
That's a good point. Needless extension through the end of Patrick's eligibility would be my counter point.Yeah, the Lickliters totally agree...

Big difference between the 2 is that Lick lost lots of players and struggled to even recruit full classes. The recruiting situation is much improved under Fran. The in season play has left a lot to be desired, but it's not like the cupboard is bare.

You mean like when Fran brought in 9 scholarship players in 2014 and 2015 combined and the only one that wasn't a miss was Moss and that could even be debated.
Lick wasn't that bad of a recruiter considering his style of play and personality, he just couldn't keep anybody due to those same issues. You mean like when Fran brought in 9 scholarship players in 2014 and 2015 combined and the only one that wasn't a miss was Moss and that could even be debated.

I wasn't saying Lick was a good recruiter, I was saying he wasn't that bad considering how bad of a coach he was and his style of play. I was surprised by who actually decided to play for him.I beg to differ. Lick recruited 1 4* (Top 100) recruit in 3 years. That was Gatens who as we all know was coming no matter who the coach was. Fran doubled that in year 3 with 2 players who were not sure gets for Iowa in Gessell and Woodbury. The thing is Fran has done a decent job at keeping the top Iowa kids home. If that trend continues we are looking at adding at least 4 more 4* Top 100 kids in the next 3 cycles. That is as close to high level recruiting as we have seen in quite some time.
Note: I'm not supporting the extension or lobbying for keeping Fran. Merely pointing out a major deliberating factor in the employment of a particular coach. This is a large highlightable area where Fran has just been better.
