adam Robinson kicked off team

BECAUSE HE COMMITTED A MISDEMEANOR, JUST LIKE JAMES FERENTZ DID.

While riding with a guy distributing an illegal product. After being suspended for the bowl game for continued academic problems which was first announced when he didn't play in the 1st half v. Minnesota. Those are the items which are public in nature. Who knows what else was going on. rumored to have not been even going to class at the end.

I am not surprised and honestly, am happy with the decision. He has had several opportunities to clean it up and failed/chose not to do so. Good luck to you Adam Robinson.

The only "open container" that matters the can of whoop-a$$ that Kirk used on a kid who clearly didn't respect the rules of being a Hawkeye football player.

While I hope A Rob is able to bounce back and find a home with another team, I don't have an ounce of sympathy for his plight. Kirk did what was necessary.

Time to move on at a Coker Pace.

driver was charged with distributing (mary) and OWI. Not sure about open container, but it wouldn't be a leap given the OWI.

The OWI could have been and probably was for driving under the influence of marijuana, they couldn't charge him with that until toxicology test came back which tells me a breathalyzer wouldn't work to test for this charge, it doesn't have to be just alcohol related for an OWI.

I feel sorry for people like you who think pot is the devil weed.

no one is saying that pot is the devil weed, it just so happen that that particular weed happens to be illegal. and when someone on a footall team already has two strkes against them (not to mention coinciding with a time when the microscope is already on the indviduals team regading drug use) possesing a little weed becomes a bigger deal.

plus, who knows what was going on behind the scenes that no one else knows about.

Personally I feel sorry for people like yourself who are stuck in the awkward position of having to advocate for something that is illegal and attempt to alienate others who happen to choose not to break the law.

Good riddance. If someone is ignorant enough to already warrant a suspension for the bowl game and then put himself into a position to get into more trouble ... then bye bye. Adam made this bed.

It is unfortunate that some of these players put themselves ahead of the team and the program. Robinson's arrest quickly made national news and, of course, the announcers soaked it up during the entire Insight game.

It is negative attention for the program that paints coach and staff in not such a good light. If you were a parent of a kid considering Iowa as his school of choice, you will most likely take a step back and say 'wait a minute. What's happening at the University of Iowa.'

All of this because two players decided to be selfish. They decided their scholarships made them untouchable.

Good riddance Adam. Some day you will look back at your decisions and most likely will carry them with you the remainder of your life. This was a coaching staff that took a chance on you and offered you an opportunity at a big-time collegiate football.

We all make decisions we regret. But, decisions like this really are unacceptable. It hurts the entire program. It impacts the remaining players. it impacts the coaches who are now faced with making a decision on the fate of said player. It impacts the athletic department as a whole, who now has to issue a news release and then face questions from the media ... All because a player put himself ahead of the team and the program.

No sympathy for you Adam. However you warrented a suspension from the bowl game should have been your wake up call. Instead, you went the other direction and made a poor decision, especially at a time when the program was already facing major scrutiny because of DJK, etc.

You had your chance. You blew. Now you will have to live with it.

I feel sorry for Adam for his problems, but I have no sympathy for him. He brought it all on himself.

Hopefully he will use this as a "life lesson" and turn his life around. He has a gift and it would be a shame if he wasted it.

If this was an OSU suspension, he would be allowed to play next year, then be kicked off after that right??

No biggy ... A-Rob will go "work out" with Ricky Williams, most likely in Jamaica, and probably take a shot at makin' it in Miami ... DUUUUDE!

Not sure why you would say..

"good riddance." He didn't harm anyone or steal anything from anyone that I know of. he made a series of silly, stupid mistakes. More than anything I feel sorry that he's made such poor choices that will impact his life forever. He can of course turn it around but he closed a chapter on this portion of his life way too early.
