Aaron White will be a solid NBA player

Clearly none of them watch the NBA. This thread is full of fail.
I watch more NBA than you do.I play more basketvball than you do. I played more college Bball than you. It is my OPINION. I think White can possibly be a good NBA player. Not now, but has a chance to grow into one. I think he's the best freshmen player weve had in a loooong time. I was never on the Basabe bandwagon last year.

It's really hard to predict right now what Aaron will look like as a senior. You must remember there are a lot of good senior basketball players who do not make the NBA.

Pros:
Height 6'9 and long
Can put the ball on the floor pretty well and beat slower 4's
Has nice looking 3 point shot. Poor percentage but shot looks good he can improve this.
Plays with energy

Cons:
Slow lateral speed. At 6'9 and will probably never be a bruiser he will would have to play 3 in the NBA. Luol Deng is a 6'9 3 man who is not the most explosive athlete but he is quicker than White. This is what will probably kill him he will be a tweener and the 3 is one of the toughest defensive match up's in the NBA right now. I just don't see Aaron being athletic enough to make the NBA.

Ryan Bowen was 6'9 -6'10 and was not nearly as good offensively as White. Heck White is better all around offensively as a freshmen then Bowen was as a senior. The reason Bowen made the NBA and stuck around was he had very good laterl movement which he said he gained by playing tennis. Bowen could bang with 4's as he was skinny but really strong and played hard. Also Bowen could step out and guard 3's on switches well enough to not get beat and allow denfenders to switch back. Bowen was terrible offensively in the NBA as teams would leave him wide open. Bowen found the right spot and he was above average defensively in 1/2 court sets.

Aaron White does nothing very well. If White can become a 40+% 3 point shooter maybe he could find a niche in the NBA. See Kyle Korver the 6'7 great shooter for the Bulls who is just god awful defensively. But Korver shot 45% from behind the arch in college. White would have to do this to make the NBA because nothing else really translates.

Then you are just a flat out ******. There is no way White is even close to an NBA player. He can't even guard Big 10 small forwards.

So many posters on here seem to have a hard time thinking beyond today. White is a legit 6'9", moderately athletic, nice skill set for a kid his size and age and from all accounts a workaholic.

Do I watch the NBA? Yes. Can I see Aaron White playing in the league today? No. But I can see Aaron, the entire package, possibly developing into an NBA player. Its not the stretch some of you make it out to be.

I'm certainly not limiting him nor am I putting unfair expectations on him.

Does any of the naysayers here think Aaron will fail to put forth the necessary effort on or off the court?

Side note: Ryan Bowen was 6'7" and listed taller. Aaron is closer to legit 6'9".

You have 17 posts and youre calling me names?? Are you 12?

Everyone tried to be polite to you by saying you must not watch much basketball. Since you claim that you do you are clearly just a complete idiot who knows nothing about basketball and have demonstrated it over and over again in this thread. Sorry the truth hurts so much.

I would love to see Bowen and White back to back ....I thought White was 6'8'' and Bowen was 6'9''. Bowen was a monster rebounder in college...led the Big Ten his junior and senior years.

Three years is an eternity in the development of a young player. Just never know. Too early to know about Aaron. Now,he is a workout fiend, and if you look at where he was 15 months ago (listed as 6'6'' 190lbs.) to now,he clearly has grown physically...up to 228lbs. If he happened to keep growing and got to 6'10'' like Jon Leuer, who is starting as a rookie for the Bucks, it would enhance his chances a great deal. Leuer is an outstanding shooter from the arc, which White needs to continue to improve. Not sure if he could ever match Leuer's frame which is NBA wide.

I love the kids game, tho,so I will just hope he becomes a great college player. The NBA is an amazingly high league, tho, even on all the bad teams. Watching that Laker-Celtic and Thunder-Kings games last nite...these guys are soooo good.

That's polite?? And this is YOUR 15th post? And you're calling me a complete idiot? Seriously, I played 4 years college basketball. Other teams forums don't have near the pissiness as this forum. Youre obviously a troll.

I have 3,000 posts and I'm calling you names. You dumb. Your opinion is wrong.

Too bad you still don't have only 15 posts, you would actually still have credibility instead of being the laughingstock of the board. Plenty of posters have called you out in this thread with specific points and you don't even address them. You are too dumb to even troll correctly.

The OP does not deserve this much ridicule. Yes, White has a ways to go but he has 3 years to develop and by all accounts he has a strong work ethic.

Several on here are claiming that White would be too slow to play small forward in the NBA. Probably true, but why the hell are you assuming he would play the 3 in the NBA? He doesn't even play the 3 now. He's 6'8'' or 6'9" now, and Rivals has him listed at 225. Could he not get his weight up to about 250 or 260? That would be big enough to play power forward.

White is 6'8 and too small for a power forward in todays NBA. There are very few players who get drafted in the post at that length, the few who do are world class athletes with huge wingspans and ridiculous verticals. NBA power forwards keep getting bigger and bigger to the point it has gotten ridiculous. The majority of today's NBA 4s were centers in college, Sullinger's natural position in the NBA will be a 4 (6-9 280), so will Kentucky's Anthony Davis (6-10 220 7-4 wingspan). There is no way Aaron has the natural frame to go down on the block and bang down low with people that size. That's not a slam on White it's just reality of the size of the athletes.
