Can you name another D1 coach anywhere that voluntarily walked away from a buyout/severance?

I remember that wild shot against Purdue. Odd to see Fuller in that clip, while watching him as 8th man for a bad USC team. My hope for the Lickliter era teams was not to get doubled up by half.

Let me just say one more thing since I am dominating this thread. I hope TL finds success. I think he is a good person and a good coach. His style is not conducive to the B1G (look how i refused to say boneG) and he is not a good division 1 recruiter.
He should not be vilified for that.

Exactly and I don't get why threads like this continue to be started and not subsequently deleted...he was the wrong hire plain and simple, then to continue to rip on his child....TL is not a bad guy, it would be different if he was a complete jerk and ripped the fans.

One of the things I learned when I ment LaVall Jordan, they really liked Iowa and were disappointed that it didn't work out. Also TL, is just enjoying life now, I doubt you will see him at a D1 program again and probably by his choice.

Time to move on, Iowa has a really good coach now, let him do the job and quit worrying about who isn't here and rather who is.

My only hope is that Todd Licker will fail at Marion. I would wish the guy success and farewell if he would only come out and be accountable for his HORRIBLE PERFORMANCE and FAILURE at Iowa.

It's Ok to say you are in over your head, admit it... he never did and took the money after burying the program, most of the kids he recruited and BB in general.

Then we hear through back channels the guy didn't havd a chance and enough time... sheesh

btw where are all thos great assistant coaches he had on staff doing these days?

In theory, sure.

But the defender was playing the pass. Watch the video: had Lick passed one step later he'd have no angle to May and it'd be picked off. Had he taken the layup himself, that ball would still be embedded in the hardwood today, from the epic facial.

With proper spacing a single defender guarding a two on one can only take away one option. The ballhandler has to keep the ball untill the defender is forced to commit to one or the other.

The defender can't leave his feet for a shot block and prevent the dump off if the person handling the ball has any coordination at all.

Look, I understand the bond between a father and his son. But it's one thing to coach your kid's YMCA team and have the other parents be ticked because you are playing your son too much. It's quite another to be paid a ton of money to put a representative basketball team on a university court and the best you can come up with is your undersized, marginally talented son at arguably the most important position on the court.
